So you ripped it in the end, this is different to the original and the version you've never seen before right?

They redid some of the scenes iirc.

The one you mean is 'the version you never saw', which adds the crab walk scene/etc, this one has the cut (and later added) scenes as bonus features.
So this one is the version you HAVE seen. The good ol classic Exorcist! Just a new anamorphic transfer and 5.1 mix. The 'never seen' one also adds some cgi and some other forms of remastering. This DVD (December 1, 1998) is now OOP (but still cheap... for now). It was an update version of this one (March 26, 1997), a new transfer, sound mix, and no 4:3 version.

A sad day that this gets no replies on the ed2k horror site.... Fear I understand, but this? j/k  You all need both!

Quote:
The film is presented in letterbox format on digital video disc, with a remastered soundtrack that's guaranteed to curdle your blood. The 25th-anniversary Special Edition DVD of The Exorcist is packed with bonus features, including a 74-minute documentary titled The Fear of God: The Making of The Exorcist, which includes interviews with cast and crew, audio commentary by William Friedkin and author William Peter Blatty, a special introduction by Friedkin, theatrical trailers and TV spots, and DVD-exclusive coverage of the film's storyboards and production design.

Maybe I add the special feature Docu?

I can agree there, I personally own them both already and the laserdisk that i picked up in a tiny little secondhand shop in a random place near Buxton (UK) for next to nothing about 9 years ago....i cant play the damn thing obviously but i just thought i`d be a cool thing to own.

Actually, no i meant the original theatrical vs the 2th anniversary, not the director's/version not seen

I'm pretty sure they changed stuff in this version; redoing the effects for the subliminal scenes for example. They then redid it again for the director's/version not seen.
