well the rips are probably fine (no offense weasel666, i didn't get any of these 2 rips), but even all the official releases are extremely dark and most of the (maybe good, maybe crappy) effects are hard to make out.
the version i got (i think it was CODE's... hmm...) was done well i guess, but even with higher contrast/brightness u COULDN'T see much more than with normal or less brightness.
this is was a total disappointment. the movie itself is worse than avp imo, the dvd's and br's suck (some of them have broken audio tracks)... the alien/predator frenchise is done for i guess. alien quadrilogy? yup, excellent. sequels? no, NO, plz GOD NO, just LET IT BE! NO MORE SEQUELS/SPIN OFFS!!!

I agree....I couldnt' see shit as to what was going on....movie is probably the worst of either Predator or Alien series...Had a good concept..just poorly executed....getting tired of these movies where the camera is so jerky you can't tell what is gore and what is floor...and then they splice it all together in such rapid succesion you have no idea what you are watching. :roll:

you are right, don't know why that happens. I own the original R2 DVD and the image is normal, but when i encoded the dvd the image gets all dark, the same happens in the Larceny rip, that's why i bought the dvd for me

by "normal" do you mean you can actually see what's going on all the time? i just had a quick peek at a special edition dvd or something and it was still dark. and everybody kept telling me the same. the rips might just be a little bit darker, which makes it worse. but due to the way the movie was shot/made, you can't quite "fix" it and there probably won't be a version that actually "pleases the eye"... :\

from what i remember, and i have no intention of rewatching that shit, but this one was much better than the previous AvP abortion. And this is shit so that's saying quite a lot.

Darkness was probably to cover the shit cgi gore :suicide:

Well they are both sewage but as far as level of putridness goes I got to say this one stinks more...but I seem to recall we had differing opinions on Alien3 and Resurrection as well......you poor lost soul :jesus:

Its not really an outlandish claim, I'm certainly not alone in that respect, I know scores of people (and reviews) that will state the same about alien 3 being better than alien 4. Its largely based on the fact it was :lol:

In the case of the recut version of Alien 3, a lot better.
