This one sucked very, very hard. Yes, it was half-decent for maybe half an hour when I was harbouring a little bit of hope for it, but then it just went straight downhill. The effects were laughably bad (at first I thought they were made like that on purpose :googley: ) and the "science" behind them even more so. The characters were annoying and clichéd way too much for me to have any interest invested in any of them whatsoever. It's a bad incoherent piece of shit that I would expect to be made in 1980 and even then I would consider it kind of lame.

Also I was watching the BestDivX rip and for whatever reason everything was recorded much louder than the voices, specially the gunfire, which only added to the overall annoyance and the "bleh" factor.

Is it me or are most movies like that these days? Or is it the rips? I recently watched a rip where I had to increase and decrease the volume throughout the movie, in order to

a) understand what everyone was talking about and
b) not to get my eardrums blown out by the loud music

The voices are too weak and the music/effects are too loud. Annoyance nr. 1 lately.

yeah, i agree with both off you. That fact really sucks. I dont know, it could be both - maybe the rips are made so, or maybe the original dvds... maybe thats the fault of that dolby surround... well, movies are prepared for cinemas, and there you always "experience" the mighty-sound-of all those effects...
I hate that, like i said. And the problem is not just "between us", cause some rips are really watchable, or, better to say, "hearable"

I too noticed that. I thought it must be my TV or something. Found an option for adjusting the different frequencies on the TV and thus increased the volume on the band used by human voice. It maybe a placebo feature, because I can't tell a difference. :(
