Oh Asylum you’ve done it again! The Asylum didn’t have time to cash in on Paranormal Activity (2009), because who on earth knew it was going to be a hit. So this month they’re release Paranormal Entity. The good part is still to come. This is taken from The Asylum website.

“There’s been some comment on the internet about our release called PARANORMAL ENTITY and why is hasn’t been posted on our website until now.

This has been a sensitive issue for all of us:
A few weeks ago we were approached by surviving members of the Finley family who asked us to release never-before-seen home video footage shot by Thomas Finley, who was accused of murdering his sister, Samantha (pictured) in 2008, and who later took his own life in prison.
The family has always maintained that Thom was innocent of the crime and that Samantha’s tragic death was not caused by anything human.
Watch PARANORMAL ENTITY on December 22, 2009 and decide the truth for yourself.”

The dvd blurb reads “Actual footage of the events leading to the 2008 "murder" of Samantha Finley. This DVD, released against the wishes of the authorities, proves that nothing human caused Samantha's death.”

This is great for so many reasons. Firstly I have no idea if Samantha and Thom Finley really existed. A quick google search has brought up nothing. Let say they are real, and this did really happen. Who on earth would give The Asylum this footage?

Who thinks to themselves “Hmmm… there has been two horrible deaths in my family, how about I give the makers of Transmorphers some real life footage so they can cash in on they’re memory … and Paranormal Activity.”

This is about as real as that “fox lawsuit” they had last year. I'm sure its going to fool a lot of people. Well played Asylum!
