im a massive Michael Myers fan and will watch any halloween movie, the original is my all time fave horror movie but this was crap, Michael grunting, speaking and taking his mask off, WTF

fucking ignoring the fucking fact that all this fucking swearing and yelling and screaming just pisses me the fuck off and doesn't add the tiniest bit of the tension the 1978 original managed to create... i still think this is better than part 1 (2007, not the original). because... it's funnier! and cruder. you just have to let go of the original michael myers... fuckety fuck.

This was the most self-indulgent piece of crap since... well, I don't know what. Michael is not Rob Zombie. He looks like a 7 foot tall Rob Zombie. I don't really care about the fact that he spends more time without his mask than with it. It just fucking bothers me that Rob Zombie made the character into himself.
Plus, this was even worse than the first one for confusing the idea of evil monster or psychotic human. The first scene makes it clear that he's a human (just like the looooooong young Michael scenes in the first) and, then, within 5 minutes Michael is getting up from a bullet to the head. Don't even get me started on the dream sequence. What a mess.
The only good points (and for me they were not nearly enough) were the gore and the brutality. Even with that, it was fucking Ed Wood time. Should have had Bela Lugosi narrating and buffalo superimposed on the shot.

I just hated the cinematography, the image looked way off balance. Which is unusual for Zombie and leads me to believe his heart was not fully in this production. Story was weak, seemed boring, plodding and at times easy to guess. Amateur psychology aside it might have been better to go the whole Haute Tension route, which I was half expecting at one point and would have made a great plot twist. If a little more thought and effort were applied this it could have been so much better in my opinion. The gore was extremely realistic and brutal as expected. Of course McDowell and Dourif were both excellent, but I really missed the charming Sid Haig. The whole thing is sadly lacking though.
