IMO totally pointless and a waste of b/w. I'm very happy you decided against this option myself avatar :D

This film was low budget and made in 1963, the sound is adequet but nothing beyond that. The original mix nor the remastered mix warrants such a large amount of extra data spent on it. Look at the bitrate already satan, adding AC3 would have significantly reduced video quality, and for a hour and a half b/w movie, 2cd is over kill. You might as well opt for renting and DVDring it satan, if you need the AC3 mix. For a rip though, there's very little point that i see. :)

Many thanks avatar!
Grabbing right away :)

Two problems with this version of NOTLD is that the new added scenes are
shit..
And that new soundtrack is real shit.

the original classic soundtrack is gone in this mess..... :-o

you're right guys, both of you. this version is definitely worse than the original version. really bad was the decision to let scott vladimir licina make a new soundtrack AND let him play the priest.

i find it quite funny though, that the cemetery zombie is played by the same actor, young and old. but you just can't take this seriously.

on the other hand, the beginning scene where the zombie comes out of his coffin for example is quite enjoyable. as spud says this version is just a nice addition to horror collections.

Well, having Romeros original in several formats incl. the post coloured version from this site + ol' copy on VHS (think they call such versions 'viragiert')...so, i will DL this file just for curiosity reasons. Hey, if nothing else, in case of cases, would be just one empty CD-media to "waste" for the storage .

However, thank you in advance, Avatar. :beerchug:

p.s. Apropos, bad (re)editing of sound. Guys, do you remember how they messed up 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre II' with different soundtracks? One is really cool (I call that one "the rockabilly/garage version") while the other one...:rage:...............:matrix: :moon:

firstly imdb is gay, secondly, that's a video release date, not the film release date... so ner ner. Else you could say that the release date of a film is whenever a new video is released and that would be just confusing.

A couple of wank scenes don't change the fact the footage was almost entirely shot in 1968. just like a new hope was 1977, 1997 my arse :matrix:

isn't this the john russo cut? the one where he added/changed enough of the movie in order to qualify for copyrighting it -- whereas the original wasn't copyrighted, and hence anyone could keep releasing it, which is why there are like a million "versions" of the same movie out there?
