THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE



Beverly Garland (who was, with Allison Hayes, one of the queens of 50s SF) is on a honeymoon train ride with her new husband Richard Crane. A telegram makes Crane blanch, and he hops off the train at the next stop, disappearing form Garland?s life. She searches for him, finally tracing his last address to The Cypresses, a plantation deep in the Louisiana swamp. It turns out that Crane is slowly turning into an alligator due to the well-intentioned experiments of scientist George Macready, who was trying to apply the regenerative abilities of alligators to mangled accident victims, of which Crane was one. The question now is whether the process can be reversed, or weather hook-handed drunk Lon Chaney will screw everything up.

The makeup is initially not bad, with Crane looking scaly and deformed. At the climax, however, when everything goes tragically wrong and Crane winds up with the head of an alligator, the costume is both obvious and very funny. On the other hand, Karl Struss? photography is gorgeously moody. The film is also interesting for its downbeat tone, where the only villain is a drunk, everyone else is trying their best, and tragedy is still inevitable. Beverly Garland turns in a typically feisty performance, wading through swamp and muck and stepping over live alligators. At the end, she gives us what could well be a unique moment in the history of Monster And The Girl sequences: here the Girl is chasing after the Monster.

There is something strange: i still can't see any source on Alligator People, but I see you kinkyqueen on Curious Dr. Humpp as Source Exchange - Cannot connect. Did you actually upload any part to any body? I don't understand what can be the problem..

kinkyqueen, this strange behaviour should have nothing to do with the fact you just added the file to your shared. 1) It's not freshly added, this should be a matter of minutes, not days!; 2) If someone can see you, they should be able to start downloading from you.

What cleint are you using? Could you please check in your shared files how much of this file you have already uploaded? Are you sure the priority is high enough?

I can see you as a source for orgy of the dead now, but my QR is still very high.

i have uploaded 9,80 mb now but you know emule, because im also downloading other stuff, this could take a while...

Again, the fact that you are DOWNloading something has no influence on what you UPload.

Yes, beside drinking, I haven't been able to get a single bit in 2 days, and now I don't see kinkyqueen anymore. I only see kartsmobile with a chunk of Alligator People...

It has nothing to do with what you're downloading.

set the priority on everything except the files you've posted here to very Low and up the priority of the files you've released to release.

I'm suprised you can get on most servers with that many files on share I though they had a limit of ~1000

In your eMule there's a tab (button?) Shared Files. Click it and you can set the priority for the shared files. Do as PCA says, he's a wise man. There is no connection between what you download and upload, you don't have to wait with this.
