This one was posted by Smilergrogan, one of its directors (I don't know which one! :wacky:) down at Delirium Vault. The word goes now to him:

One of the directors of this movie wrote:
OK, something a little different here. This film was completed in 1994 and has been sitting on the shelf without distribution for more than 10 years. I should know, as I'm the film's writer, co-director, and co-owner. In a "what the hell" mood, I've digitized it and am upping it here.

Before you say, "Oh, no, not a shitty homemade movie!", I might whet your appetite with the fact that the film stars Michael J. Anderson, known to all as the dancing dwarf of TWIN PEAKS and more recently in the series CARNIVALE. Also starring is DYRK ASHTON, whom horror fans may recognize as the memorable "Truck Zombie" of the 1990 NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD remake. And last but not least, there's a brief but unforgettable appearance by the one and only Jim VanBebber playing - what else - a mad filmmaker.

If all that's not enough, Michael J. Anderson wrote and performed several songs for the soundtrack, so if you've ever wanted to hear the little guy rock out, here's the chance.

As for the plot, I'm not going to give myself a headache by even going there. Suffice it to say that it's the near future, and Anderson is a psychic coroner trying to solve a crime against the state by delving into the mind of a corpse. But that's just an excuse for 86 minutes of sheer strangeness. We were going for something different, and for better or worse, I think we succeeded. So download and enjoy if you dare. Except for a few small private screenings, this is the film's "world premiere".

[...]

One of the common complaints is that some of the dialog is hard to hear; the sound mix has always bothered us. Sounds great in a recording studio, but various tracks seem to take over when it's viewed on other forms of playback. And the compression to XviD probably makes matters worse.

Both my co-director and I have gone on to other things, and this film is just something that pops into our heads now and then as a bunch of fun memories. I told him I was thinking of upping it here and he agreed why not.

[...]

Thanks for the positive responses, and yes anyone can post this on emule or anywhere they wish. Since it never found "legitimate" distribution, I don't mind letting it out there in whatever form possible.

90% of the film was shot MOS (silent) with post dubbing and Foley, the way Europeans used to do. A big mistake which we thought would save us some money but wound up costing much more in the long run. One of the few scenes that actually had live sound was Jim VanBebber's cameo; we wanted to take full effect of Jim's presence and that turned out to be the most "real" feeling scene in the film.

So here we go, this will be shared from tomorrow morning :D

Absolutely a shame that a writer and a director have to rip and post their own undistributed movie. Respect.
