Thanks!

Is there anyone so familiar with the movie so he could tell me the times when Kraken appears? I am not quite interested in the movie, but a giant octopus is something I just can't miss!

It appears numerous times. You don't see it in full view till the last parts of the film, but its there throughout.

Quite a long movie but you'd be better off watching it all.

Watched it last night and was quite disappointed: The Kraken only appeared twice and it didn't really look much better than the other CG low-budgets squids and octopi (the 1955 It Came From Beneath The Sea is still the best looking tentacled thing I have seen). I found the rest of the movie rather boring and in places childish.

why would you want a split file in this day and age? More compression i can see, but why not AFR? :)

To be fair, it is a kids film  Its based on a ride at an amusement park after all

Its not as well made as the first, but its about as childish.

There's nothing to say kids movies can't be good btw, see Lemony Snickets Series of Unfortunate Events if you have kids, its rather good. Certainly holds the bar above most of the harry-sponge-bob-potter-etc movies. :)

the reason I asked for a 2 or 3 part rip is because I do not have a dvd burner, only a cd burner on my puter. And as they only fit 700mb each, it would be nice to get the movie. Unless you know of a program that splits avi files that is easy for beginners. Thanks :beerchug:

.....wow and i though i was a luddite only having a CRT monitor these days.

It`d be far better to buy a DVD burner or even a USB drive/caddy/something, as they`re both within the realms of price/availablity now.

And if you do buy a dvd burner i`d advise a LITE-ON as it`s a little known fact that you can use an official lite-on tool to disable region coding on your drive WITHOUT having to update/flash your firmware.

heres the link for the tool

I tried to play the >2GB file, but neither my standalones would play it, just switched off after a GB, and my xbox wouldn't even recognise it, so i had to split it.

XBMC doesn't support UDF discs. :(

but if, you have a network and a hdd backup solution like i keep suggesting (since its the best backup solution imo), it aint a problem. You just allocate a share to the root of your hdd, plug it in, and then use a share to watch it :)

Yeah, no udf support like a heck of a lot of standalones atm. You need to put it on a hard drive, and either use a network share to play or ftp it onto your xbox
