Actually, PCA is right, we don't need to download to know that the quality can be much better if it:

is around 700MB
has the correct framerate
is cropped

When you leave a file uncropped, bitrate is wasted because it is encoded onto the black borders, and the quality of the rest of the image suffers. Crop the black borders, any half-ass decent movie viewer will add the black borders in for you. Try a correctly cropped rip at 700MB with the correct framerate, I guarantee you it will look MUCH better.

And it won't matter if we crop it ourselves, since the file is already encoded it won't improve quality at all. There is still wasted bitrate.

Hey, no need to get rude. We all appreciate your effort, but if you are making a rip, why not make it properly and maximize the quality? As fierysky said, when you leave the video uncropped, large percentage of the bitrate goes into encoding the black bars. This does not mean that an uncropped rip can't look good, but surely the same rip would look better if it were cropped. This is why you should always apply cropping - unconditionally.

If you crop a downloaded rip yourself, you'll just make it smaller, but this does not influence the quality. Cropping should be done BEFORE encoding. And since you should be aiming for ~700 MB anyway (again, to maximize the bitrate), it does not make much sence to decrease the size of the file, because that would leave us with unused space on the disc.

Use GK and read one or two guidelines, it's really very simple and does not require any additional effort to make a proper rip. Also, please remember that the comments made by other members are not meant to offend you; we just want to help you reach the highest possible ripping standards. I guess there's nothing wrong with it.

I would like to see this film as I recently downloaded Circus of Horrors (1959) supposedly a good companion piece to Horrors of the Black Museum and Peeping Tom (1959). Classing these three films as a Sadian Trilogy David Pirie in A Heritage of Horror says:

'Their visual inspiration is 1950's pornography while their central preoccupation was with the British public's insatiable appetite for crimes of violence.'

'insatiable', most certainly!

I can't find any sources for DeadBeat's rip or any others...

Go to your shared files (in emule) and highlight it. The uploaded data appears in the lower left corner.

I don't run MorphXT so I'm not sure where the PS option is : can anyone else point Deadbeat in the right direction?

It's right there, just as you pointed it, PCA...
Go to Shared Files, right click on a chosen file and choose Powershare, then you'll have the options: Activated, Disabled, Auto etc.

It's been there in all MorphXT(s) as far as I remember (in MorphNext and MorphKad too, I think).

On second thought: what version of Morph are you running, Deadbeat?

I am not sure I installed it properly. I put it in eMule folder. Is that all I had to do?
