hey jazel, I was wondering if you ever thought of doing a similar job with Chain Reaction, I mean I know it's not like there's a huge demand for it... but I don't see the point of having an ittenbach flick with cuts all over it, legion of the dead is enough already. And I suppose the rip named House of Blood is the us dvd and therefore rated with several cuts to the violence... but there's this other fine rip:

I have the House of Blood DVD, which is Region 2 and therefore not the US version. It runs for 1h 42m 35s.

I also have Legion of the Dead R2.

Let's try to sort it out then the runtime for the rip I mentioned is accordingly to emule details 1:38:22 , if it's german I believe both your and that one are pal, and should have the same fps?! then there's a serious difference of runtime and yours actually the more "complete".

there's 2 links for comparions between 2 versions of the dvd, screenshots and everything, that should clarify all. even if you don't understand whats written you'll certainly detect what's not in your version (or hopefully everything will be intact on your dvd).

I got used to "know" there's no uncut version of legion of the dead avaiable, I just bought myself a R4 dvd for 4 dollars, it runs 89min and it's NTSC, don't know if it says much, but is your longer... are there different versions of legion of the dead or no such thing as longer and shorter, just a bunch of rated dvds?

I have no probs making subs for it, once I grab the flick of course...I'm sure I have it somewhere, the House of Dead version, but I do have these subs already. Don't even remember where I got them, but the last subtitle line is at 1:37:54. The spelling sucks and i is in place of L in almost every place, but if these help I'll make them work better...

thanks jazel, all I want is watch it unrated with subs (in case it's german audio) or have an unrated rip in english... either way is fine, you guys can sort it out I mean, I'm even a little confused now, I believe the rip I posted a link before is the real deal, it's in german and says director's cut, but sadly I don't have it yet to confirm if the gore scenes are 100% there.

With the references I provided I'm sure we can figure out the best way to go, fixing subs for that rip ( or yours jazel, if you check if it's really uncut), or have Slayer releaseing a new rip of his already in english or something, let's wait for his reply about the dvd.


Btw, Jazel... do you know when Dard Divorce will be out, the DVD I mean... I guess olaf is doing one in english one in german these days, I think the language for Dard Divorce is english, hopefully no headaches for that one too bad we don't have subs for that family movie, just saw a trailer and looks cheesy and fun, kinda different from what I'd expect from Ittenbach as far as atmosphere... gonna grab that later even without subs.

Slayer, whenever you have time please check the links I provided with screenshots and videos comparing the versions and showing unrated footage, if you confirm yours is uncut I'd really think a rip would be welcome, since we're missing that no matter the language as long as it have subs, english is even better since it's original

and as far as Legion of the Dead, I believe it's pretty easy to detect if it's the same butchered version I have, for example when the two fallen angels are interrogating the bald guy early into the movie, right after the guy tells a story we cut to another scene with the duo getting out of the house or something (that's my version), but in the making ok there's footage of them stabbing the guy, then a dismemberment aftermath (I believe it's that guy) so I beliege they hack him to pieces... also in the ending there's plenty of gore in the shootout, my version barely has a shootout or any action let alone ANY gore, it was supposed to have a gory shotgun blast to the head and other gore bits.

I'd LOVE to have legion of the dead uncut, I believe every other ittenbach fan would love too, with Chain Reaction/House of blood is a little better, if yours uncut, just rip it out as an uncut english release would be awesome, if it's not maybe jazel can fix subs for the rip already avaiable in german.

The House of the Dead is small in size but looks OK, both of these would for sure go in low quality, but they do seem to be uncut. If I go by IMDB, Chain Reaction is missing about 4 minutes and Legion of the Dead is 89mins though they also list a92 minute version released in Argentina...if you want either of these let me know,but maybe Slayer can do much better versions...

And Dard Divorce's website hasn't been up dated since October 2007, but some sources tell me its coming out sometime this year...

I don't remember that scene from my version of legion of the dead, might be a good sign, but if you can, just do a search not far from the beginning to the "interrogation" scene, the very first guy they recruting to the legion, and see if something happen to him after he's done talking (telling the flashback story), if the guy is killed and gored, it's definitely uncut, as in mine there's absolutely nothing and it's just implied they killed him somehow.

What's with the aspect ratio for legion... ? is it messed up in a way the player can fix?

and about Chain Reaction, it's a bit more difficult to detect if it's really unrated, but using those screenshots I linked, and the youtube videos might be quite easy... only gotta be careful because the cuts in that one are a lot more subtle, the rated version still show some gore only missing those precious 1 second shots and such.

BUT, I remember I had that same rip, undersized one... but I don't remember checking if it was uncut, as there was the way better 1.37gb to get.


--- So far I say we wait for Slayer's confirmation on his dvds, I'm downloading a dual language 1.4gb or something version of legion of the dead, if that's uncut I'm a happy boy, if not we can go either way, your rip or slayer's new improved rip. And for Chain Reaction at least I'm 90% sure the 1.3gb german rip is uncut (I might start downloading it) so we can either get subs fixed for that or again have Slayer releasing a new english uncut rip.

We're getting there can't wait for Dard divorce, obviously is not the plot or the acting that gets me excited (though if that's improved it'll be all good), but the bits I've seen made it look very sadistic, hopefully the gore will look good.

Not to spoil to much for you during the interrogation,the one brother stabs him multiple times and slits his throat...then they resurrect him. When I grabbed this I was told it is the most uncut version out there. But as you pointed out the ratio sucks on this and makes people look a little stretched. And from Slayers comments it seems his has the same run time, unless I read something wrong. If it is the same hope he don't mind making us all a nice pretty rip of it...

The undersized House of the Dead was released by the ripper as uncut, but sometimes that don't mean a thing, as Slayer has pointed out his DVD has a runtime of 1h 42m 35s and the undersized one 1h 41m 18s and thats almost a minute of possible GORE!!!
