What's wrong with DVD-5? Do you mean it is a non-retail DVD? It doesn't look like a cam if you ask me. :watchingyou:

DVD5 is a compressed source & thus the quality isnt going to be as good as it can be.

The quality of those screenshots is blurred & check out the jaggies/compression blocks. For such a high res (720x416) with AC3 its been overcompressed. These are stills from relatively motionless scenes, I suspect on high motion its gonna go into block-a-rama like a VCD

I'd vote for low quality

I agree that resolution is too high for an 1 CD rip. However I have several DVD-5 retail DVDs with nice quality (and no extras).

elchup is right, DVD5 isn't necessarily a compressed source, lots of retail DVDs are DVD5s.

If a DVD release is of a 90 minutes or less movie with no extras or DD5.1 tracks then it'll fit just fine on a DVD5 without needing further compression.

Even if the NFO means that a DVDR was the source for this rip then a movie of this length should still translate without altering the bitrate from a DVD9 to DVD5.

Yes, the res is too high for a 1CD rip and there's the 448 kb/s AC3 too, so that's probably the reason for the soft image quality.

The DVD source is untouched, you can get the DVD-r here:

This would be a nuke if its a scene rip as it is below the minimum bitrate and is also showing signs of blocking in the screens which are low motion stills.
