DD is a bit odd, it splits based on visual quality and quality of the rip rather than source, a lot of it down to the rippers discretion. As grind said:

and looking at the screens, whilst there's nothing wrong with the rip (looks great, no pixelation or anything, so its pretty flawless on that side of thing), I think this DVD was mastered from a VHS, maybe its me but i think there's evidence of a VHS scan line at the bottom of the frame and the colours are a bit off.

Lots of cheaper DVD companies use vhs or ld as the source of the rip, i got a few like that. It looks a damn sight better than the VHS I'm sure and everything, but its just the way dead-donkey works in splitting the two sections.

All of the users browse both sections of the movie split, its just a way of knowing before hand what quality picture and audio to expect.

NP guys, i love spreading the disease so-to-speak.
The thing about the low-quality decision is just as Spud said. The DVD looks like shit, plain and simple. In fact some of the movie was cropped differently, so I had to crop it little extra; and the subs (on the DVD) start over a minute late, needing a big resync (there are good now, lining them up without a reference was a pain, first and last sync up though). Also, the audio bitrate is low (for 2disc!) to compensate for an extra video boost. So I figured it'd be better to just post it LQ to avoid any whining, and also because people might have lower expectations and be pleasantly surprised.
Next week I'll post "Another Heaven" and "Necrophagia: Nightmare Scenarios". I haven't seen either yet, so I hope they're good. :D

Does someone want to reshare this for me? I lost my copy, and there aren't any full sources for half of it. If not its dead real soon. Thanks.
