Somebody on the forum over at Tvshowsondvd.com seems to think that the first 3 series are already available on DVD in Canada, but I had a bit of a search but couldn't find anything
Lets hope that if they do release them they'll be in season sets and not shitty compilations, I hate it when they do that! Keep it chronological I say...
...anyway, wait until I move house again, then I'll start ripping eps from the DVDRs. Give it a couple of weeks, ok Cryptfans

No one has posted links on here, but SilenZio has some more new episodes up on Emule. I don't know how to do the links, or I would post them on here. He's got Only Sin Deep and Collection Completed from season 1, and Fitting Punishment and Mute Witness to Murder from season 2. Those are the ones that I haven't seen on Emule before. Just wanted to let everyone know if they didn't already!

Don't bother ripping the extras, I already did and I'll be putting those out in about a week...

Thx avatar
I'm leaving for France tomorrow, so I'll be back next week with the rest of season 4 and certainly a few more.
That's beginning to be a really nice collection we got

yeeeeees, and sometime it's gonna be complete!!!
btw, i just had a look at GK. and now i'm wondering if there's a possibility to crop these lines off without having to rip the episode again. (spud are you there? )

cropping is part of the encoding process, you can only crop when encoding.
Decoders allow cropping on the fly, but the effect is pointless and only to hide visual annoyances, as solid areas of colour take a lot of bits, and by having a solid colour area encoded in every frame, the ill effects of cropping mounts up in decreased video bitrate spent on the 'good stuff'
To answer your question, cropping can only be applied before/during encoding. If you mean, you are working from the vobs, then yes, you can crop happily If you mean crop the end product, no, unfortunately you must re-encode to do that.

gordian knot is like a box of chocolates. you never know what you're gonna get.
so i used gk to crop the lines off and the result is not what i expected. sure, the annoying lines are gone bad the overall quality is worse. not much but a bit. moreover, the 2 eps that i ripped came out with a file size of 300 MB and 334 MB. i don't have a clue how this could happen.
then i clearly told the f***ing program to use mp3 vbr. but it creates ac3 cbr.
now, there are two possibilities where i could have made mistakes.
first, something's wrong with the fps (source is NTSC). AutoGK gets 39,415 fr and GK gets 49,269 fr. how to change this i don't know.
second, maybe i shouldn't have chosen "just mux" for audio encoding like the official gordian knot guide says.
what do you think where the problems lie?

ok, i've good and bad news. the good news is:
ed2k: Tales.from.the.Crypt.60.(5x08).Well-Cooked.Hams.TVRip.[avatar].avi [232.81 Mb] [ Stats]
ed2k: Tales.from.the.Crypt.65.(5x13).Till.Death.Do.We.Part.TVRip.[avatar].avi [233.02 Mb] [ Stats]
but unfortunately these are the only two eps that i could easily rip with AutoGK since they don't have any annoying lines at the bottom or the sides of the screen. all the other eps which aren't released yet aren't "clean". and i still don't have a clou how to make the damn distortions go away.
GK never ends a rip with the correct filesize (this ranges from 270 to 370 MB where it should be exactly 233MB). at least i got it to create nice rips concerning overall picture quality and sound. then FairUse crops the lines nicely but always creates wrong AR. finally, AutoGK is unable to crop at all, even though i tried the hidden option tool. i can put any parameter for the autocrop function i like, it just does't change a damn thing, at least not in the preview.
so, until i found a way to crop there won't be any more TFTC eps from me. [ Add all 2 links to your ed2k client ]

well not one for repeating the guides, but you are using 0.30alpha right? And you don't have overhead checked like it says? And you are selecting the "Encode audio at an average..." and entering 128kb/s. I could list a long list of stuff that can course the filesize problems, if you haven't followed the guide correctly.
If you are, then I recently had a problem with xvid codec being saturated, so I had to change the B-frame ratios to both = 1.00, 1.00
Does cripplegk not have the ability to process a avisynth file then? Why not copy and paste the cropping and resize lines from gknot if so
