I haven't watched the episode yet. I also saw that they are probably going to bring back Michael C. Hall in another series called Dexter: Resurrection.
This series is seen as him remembering back as he lays there dying by the end of Dexter: New Blood and Resurrection will probably continue where New Blood ended.

I watched the first episode yesterday. It's okay. I think the casting is good and I especially like Christian Slater as Harry Morgan.

Christian Slater is good in everything these days I've noticed. I might give it a go, since I watched through this with my wife... but that mini-series ending was awful. i can't believe they fucked up the show's ending twice!

I will try and convince wifey to watch it with me. Just so you know what I like: Dexter was best with the Trinity Killer (S4, S1-3 were good, I think S5+ is where it got progressively worse)... the last season and the ending were absolute garbage. My wife doesn't hate the ending as much as me. New Blood was pretty interesting, but the ending was abrupt and out of tone/character/etc. Dexter's actions and the whole death was just crap. I hate the whole passing on the legacy bullshit/trope. Fatista was wasted too.

I agree with almost everything, I am more on your wife's side with regard to the ending, however. I was a let-down but I could live with it when it aired. Have not rewatched it though.

Watched two episodes, they do a good job I was pleasantly surprised. The actor playing Dexter nails it, turns out they are a Brit. Batista can speak better Spanish lol. Music and tone is great. Best of all it undoes the horrible ending to the last show, or almost does (I still think Dexter's actions were out of character).
Two episodes in, I would recommend this show so far. Wifey agrees

He died in the last episode, so I'm thinking they might undo the entire season to get rig of his death and the nonsense leading up to it. Best course of action if you ask me.
And yes, he was out of character as fuck.
