Seen some decent ones used as Avatars. Been trying to make some for my Phone Screensaver. Grabbed something called AVI - GIF - makes Huges shit ones - but I could stick them in Animation Shop and shrink them down. For some reason though AVI - GIF has packed in and makes everything Red? Who knows or cares - glad I didn't pay for it - all hail BT.

So is there a way to make them using stuff I can just download off the www?

I have Animation Shop but it crashes when I try dropping a DivX xlip in - dunno if it is meant to work or not.

Cheers.

i'd redownload PSP, what version are you using? It can handle avi imports in xvid fine... i'm using 8.0

edit: just download the trial from the official homepage and then google for a crack... a lot easier :wacky:

PSP 8.0
Animation Shop 3.04

Yeah I thought it should take DivX - I have done it before. I get some elongated error that I can't even begin (Or want) to remember.

I got Animation 3.05 Trial and it did the same error. I can load the DivX file in Animation Wizard - that blue line goes across the bottom - get about half way and stops - then I get...

c:\blah blah blah\clip.avi does not exist or can't be read. Please check file name and access privileges?

Feck knows what that means. Privileges? I am Admin. Tried ripping without sound. Ripped a really small clip in case I was running out of RAM - I have 1Gb.

I give up.

that means a read error surely, copy it elsewhere, make sure windows isn't pissing around with it. You know what its like with trying to read avis when it shouldn't (ie 99% cpu bug, can not cut and paste, etc.).

Sounds more like that avi clip has an incomplete header and XP is hogging it in another process.

It should be able to read anything you have the correct codecs installed for. I wouldn't recommend putting in a 700mb file though readable or not ;)

Right - ripped a small clip from DVD via Shrink. Ran it through DrDivx - it's 700Kb in size. Ripped and converted it to D drive rather than desktop. Totally uninstalled all traces of PSP. Installed Animation Shop again. Same freaking error.

Anger - rising - rising - :matrix:

The clip on the left drops into Animation Shop fine. The one on the right doesn't. Is there anything stands out as being a problem?

well one uses a correct AVI container, the other one doesn't seem to do. OpenDML Avi = most common, it should really say that and not just "AVI". Its also got the virtualdub comments in so its been processed correctly by nandub/virualdub

That's odd - the one on the right (that doesn't work) is done in Dr DivX - you would think they would know what they are doing. I will have to do it in AutoGK and see if that sorts it.

Yep. AutoGK works fine! So the convertor by the people that brought us DivX doesn't - and free software does? It's faster as well.
