Selling would be worse for me. I don't agree that that's acceptable under any circumstance.

They undermine exactly what i hate filesharers being stereotypes as, pirates. Piracy indicates profit at the expense of others imo, hence filesharing isn't piracy.

Or it wouldn't be if dofuses didn't sell stuff the download :moon:

I do what I do cos many of the films I would never get to see otherwise. Sometimes I run off a copy of something so a friend can see it too, so what? Whoever wants to stop me is welcome to try cos I aint doing shit wrong.

Actually, the guy is half right about the public domain. There is a loophole in the Byrne act in the US that allows movies that are copyrighted in a different version to be considered public domain. Doesn't count for foreign movies without copyrights, yet, but stuff like Braindead which is copyrighted as Dead/Alive are public domain in the US.
Anyway, this guy definitely is getting his stuff off eMule (klownman? Maybe, FH, not here...). And, yes, he's ripping you all off and his customers, too. Lame
Oh, and the ones who seel downloaded stuff are the worst. Retaggers are an annoyance, but these guys make us all look bad. Just because its horror/B titles on the Internet doesn't make it better than the guy on the street selling Ocean's Twelve.

Do you have information on the Byrne act loophole please?
I can't find any info that supports the idea Braindead is public domain. Regarding Jackson's movies, Bad Taste is however listed as public domain.

Concerning his claim that the dvdrs are of unreleased titles and that gives him the right to copy them is completely untrue, a significant number of them are available and the rest are copyrighted.

Asshole, definately worse than a retagger. Sure, i sometimes make a copy for a friend, but i trade it for another cd/dvd or sell it for the price of the media. Same thing as up/downloading if you ask me.

Now while I would definately call this person "a member", I wouldn't necessarily call him a member of this board... As mentioned before, it's probably someone, who browses the forum, clicks the links, leeches the movies, reencodes them and sells them.
