Indeed.
My point being that it was made illegal under pretty false pretences, and the general public of the time didnt know.
I reckon that DLing is due for a fall in the same manner...
Quite often, 'we the people' just nod our heads and agree to this shit, without all the proper facts to hand. Usually because the important ones are hidden away, and we are only allowed to see what 'we need to see'.
XXXX is bad for you, so we are gonna ban it just in case you are stupid enough to try it?
The ultimate in mind-control; designed to make you feel like its in your best interests to heed ALL that they tell you! But you'll never hear the full story, or receive all the facts, simply because they dont want you to, and it doesnt improve their situation.
That probably makes Hitler spin in his grave coz HE didnt think of it first! :wacky:
I dont need the 'Man' telling me how stupid I can or cant be; Life is a one-shot, do-it-now-or-run-outta-time type thing.
Rant, rave, rant, etc... :cussing:

That is completely insane about the rabbit... THAT is why pot's illegal in UK? Why don't they try that with prozac or riddlin or some shit like that? See how well Bugs holds together with that crap in his veins... 'They'll' tell you its because that isn't its proper dosage and application... Hypocrisy anyone? In the US, some say pot is illegal, almost solely based on the monopolizing of the paper industry (which in 192X was a big friggin deal). Hemp produced more, better, and cheaper; but also intoxicated, so at the height of prohibition, the boiling point of disapproval of it, poor old Mary Jane took a fall. People wore poor, businesses were crumbling, the stock market was going under, and white people didn't like jazz, so POOF liquor re-legalized and quietly pot was illegalized. Then the everlasting black market started cultivating, and the country's economic stature was slouching and the wrold was preparing for battle (WW2), so the gov't pushed campaigns to further push MJ into the realms of taboo and criminalization. Thats why in those days there are suddenly many disinformed anti-marijuana films and organizations cropped up (pun intended). All because people were faced with new situations they could not handle.
Very much like file-sharing. In 1995, I'm sure people file-shared music (in newsgroups and email), no one gave a shit. Those people wanted to get good sound faster (hence smaller), so we got mp3s. Once the 13 yr olds get their hands opn it and abuse it, downloading every thing they see on MTV, the wrong people took notice and wanted to exploit something. It IS illegal to download and upload music/movies, in the US. BUT it is a civil matter, not federal. Like if you chose whether or not you decide to prosecute the guy who hit your fence with their car. You can do so, but it is up to the property holder.
Everything in US is about property and its boudaries, and I'm sure that holds true almost anywhere. Pot is illegal, but unless they want to bust me for trafficking, I can smoke pot freely on my property, on the DL of course  . The EULA (End-User License Agreement) states that (in the US at least), any property you purchase (music/movie) enables you to make as many copies of it as you deem fit; BUT that only includes copying the original (a copy of a copy does not fall into legal backup category). FIle-sharing over the net consists of (hypothetically) your legal copy (an mp3 you ripped from your bought CD), and someone copying that from your computer. You just commited piracy, as it is a copy of a copy. If you 'move ' the file, that is legal. Hence the ability to sell your CDs used. Though, to my-logic-based-on-their-logic, used CDs might be illegal, too. Let's say Artist produces 100 albums, knowing that 100 people want it. Artist sells them for $20. Only Fan#1 buys it. He then sells it used for $15 to Fan#2. Theorhetically, if it gets passed around like that to all 100 fans, each buying it used from the last, then Artist only got $20 (or $2 of it after the record label, who put 250K into it production, and manufacturing, plus whatever they didn't spend of their advance to record it), and all 100 fans got to hear it. Drastic maybe, but in some scale it happens. So am I supposed to understand that as long as I pay money, regardless of what the artist or publisher get, its legal? File-sharing is the same, but Fan#1 buys it and keeps it, still giving half of it (the audio part, not the package) to Fan#2-100.

The Uk Gov will prob outlaw DLing of any kind, and state that it funds the likes of Al Queda! Or child-molesterers...
Or maybe Uwe Bolls filming lessons :wacky:
They always create a reason to be afraid/feel threatened by, (terrorism, oil shortages, health-scares, HouseOfTheDead2, etc), and then use it to enforce more control over us all.
Like I said previously; they are so good at it now, that they can actually make us feel, in some weird way, more free in the process!! :o
I am paranoid.
Partially because of the amount i schmoke, ( ), but mainly because Ive got good reason to be!
Once upon a time, (in the US, UK, WHEREVER!), politicians and governments were elected to perform duties on OUR behalf.
Now all they seem to do is line their already obscenely-fat pockets with ever more of our blood, sweat and human-rights.
Still.
Musnt grumble
