Oh no...they got one after that one...Plus a few EP's...I got those. But something brand spanking new no...Last one I saw them out with officially was Cold Steel for an Iron Age which was 2002 so I guess they are due for another new one...Didn't realise it has been that long

I received the MCD "Delve - The dead amongst" through a tradetoday and in the booklet, it says Germaniac - vox and guitars. Is this THE Germaniac?
Great band by the way, too bad it's only a little more than 11 minutes of music. I definately have to get some Verminous material since i believe that's the continuation of Delve.
Also got the Decayed/Urn split CD in the same envelope, great bands too, old school black/thrash from both.

Does anybody have the Lunar Aurora/Paysage d'Hiver split LP in mp3 format? I've got the LP but i'd like the mp3's to carry with me and i don't have the proper equipment to rip it myself.

It's possible....I stuck about 75% of all my MP3's on my wifes comp during the last week or so.Of course in doing that.....what happens? The comp goes out on me Lunar Aurora does have a familiar look to it though...Not much I can do until I can get on it though.I'll make a list of what I got and post it some sort of downloadable format so then I can rar it up for release here in this section when I get the other comp running again.

Haha, well all i download in music are vinyl releases i've got and want to put on my mp3 player, this is one of them. Also the Paysage d'Hiver - Schattengang demo (on LP) i'd like to get. Maybe i should take a look at soulseek again, although i heard it's not what it has been.
Lunar Aurora should have a familiar look to it since it's one of the best black metal bands out there. Highly underrated imo.

Some promotion to the people into real metal:
Quote: | NEW BLOOD FOR THE GODS OF THRASH ! THE BASAR proudly presents these 4 new spikes through the groins of all those feeble wimps who are not VIOLENTLY OLDSCHOOL: HAMMERWHORE "Hammerwhore" Songs like Victim Of Psycho-Toxin or Outlet Of Lust make the first album of this completely insane US Speed Thrash Metal band a real threat. HIRAX or NUCLEAR ASSAULT fans will absolutely love this. You can also visit HAMMERWHORE on MySpace. The first 100 copies of the CD come with a sew-on HAMMERWHORE logo patch. Released in October 2005. ANAEL "On Wings Of Mercury" In 2002 CE this german band came out of nowhere and released the successful "Necromantic Rituals" album. Now they are back with songs such as The Black God's Icon or Marching Through Babylon's Gates which clearly document the vast step ANAEL made towards their own identity. Only Hell knows how far these guys will go in the future... Released in October 2005 CE. DEATH BEAST "The Wakening" As one can easily hear in Blood Of Dionysus or Apokalypse Metal, DEATH BEAST are dedicated to the filthy Thrash Metal of the early eighties such as SLAUGHTER or NASTY SAVAGE. You can also visit DEATHBEAST on MySpace. Released in October 2005 CE. TEARSTAINED "Monumental In Its Sorrow" Rerecorded and with more material than on the original CD, this brilliant piece of music is finally available again. Don't miss the epic twisted Black Metal of Bat Horde or The End Of This Incarnation that combine the finest moments of MERCYFUL FATE and BATHORY a second time. Remove all sharp objects before playing TEARSTAINED or you might wake up in strange places. You have been warned. The first 100 copies of the CD come with a sew-on TEARSTAINED logo patch. Released in October 2005. Now that you're convinced that these bands and their releases slay everything in their path you want more of course. In case you're one of these rare specimens who indeed still do purchase a release to support a struggling band and to enable the equally struggling label(s) to belch forth more releases of this insane magnitude you might want to take a look at some special offers like the CAULDRON or the 666 PACK which we drew up to get you as much (head) bang for your buck as possible. We promise we will put it right back into more deadly Heavy Fucking Metal ! The Metal Gods want you to spread this message to all your Heavy Metal contacts ! |
Good news! I received the Anael, Hammerwhore and Death Beast albums last tuesday and they're all great! The Tearstained is worth the purchase too since i've got the other two albums by that band and like them. I will buy this recent re-release another time.

Hmm, i heard The Codex Necro about two years ago but i don't remember much of it. Kind of industrial styled, right? And well, there's not much good black metal from the UK. You could try Basilisk, i quite like it but i have to be in the mood. It's a tad more raw than the usual. Pretty repetitive. Then there's The Meads of Asphodel, used to have a CD by them but i traded it. Especially didn't like the keyboards.
Now i probably forgot some, which means they are probably not worth mentioning. If i'm wrong, enlighten me.
For great UK stuff, check Electric Wizard and Jesu, Electric Wizard is Drone/Stoner and Jesu Drone/Doom. Especially EW is great for the stoners among us. Also try Evile, great thrash. Your neighbours are going to think they're back in the eighties.

Just lost over 20GB of mp3's from a hard drive crash. Had all the Anaal Nathrakh, so I think it would be a good place to start. Teach me to wait months before backing up.

No worries Karst...I got all of them plus the unofficial releases....You know where to find them....Don't make me use that dirty 3 lettered word here that I ain't supposed to say. But yeah,,,,when you gonna learn man??
@D
Anaal is anything but industrial....I don't even know where you got that from.
You lucky bastards in england are treated to 2 shows on the 15th and 16th of December.
http://www.anaal-nathrakh.tk/
If i were there you couldn't get me away from that show even by lopping my legs and ears off. They produce the same quality live as they do in the studio...so they are one of the better BM bands out there. So all you UK lads can chip in and buy my plane ticket as well as my concert ticket. So time to pass the hat around

I mean they have a kind of mechanic sound like Aborym, Diabolicum or Mysticum do... But i could be mistaken of course.
I forgot Forefather in my other post, good band from the UK. Not really black though.

Never noticed this metal thread here before.
Any of you guys like Novembre? They're probably my favourite Death Metal band. They're highly underrated I think. Most reviews I've seen (which aren't many) compare them to Opeth, but Novembre were around before Opeth (only just before). I've been following both Novembre and Opeth since their first albums, and think Novembre are much much better (although My Arms Your Hearse is a brilliant classic album I must admit). I personally don't think they sound like Opeth either, but I guess with the soft to heavy changes in the songs I can see why the two are compared.
For anyone who's not heard them, they're 'sort of' melodic death metal, with both awesome growly and clean vocals, however they're also one of the most melancholic and emotional sounding bands I've heard. They're from Italy too.
There's only 2 albums at Amazon (the first two album are long out of print, don't know why Novembrine Waltz is not there - it is at Amazon.co.uk) - here's a review from Amazon (not by me) that I think sums them up pretty well...
Quote: | There are tons upon tons of talented bands in the melodic death genre today (Opeth, In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Children of Bodom, etc.), but one band in particular exists in virtual obscurity, having gotten none of the recognition that the aforementioned bands have. That band is Novembre, and having listened to this album, I cannot for the life of me figure out why this band has not gotten the attention they so rightfully deserve.
This band is, quite simply, amazing. They have mastered the art of blending savage riffs with beautiful melody to a degree I could scarcely imagine beforehand. Carmelo Orlando is quite possibly the best vocalist I have ever heard, in any kind of death metal. His bloodthirsty growls and screams are a bit like a hybrid of the black and death metal style, and are fraught with emotion (something that many death vocals often lack). Coupled with this are clean vocals that are just stunning. They have an ethereal melodic quality that puts one in the mind of Maynard James Keenan, of Tool. Giuseppe Orlando's thunderous drumming is equally impressive. Speed, technicality, and impeccable double bass control make for an excellent backdrop to it all. The occasional keyboard (courtesy of Carmelo) pops up here and there, to enhance the atmosphere of the guitars. |
My favourite albums are 'Wish I Could Dream It Again' and 'Classica'. Most others say 'Novembrine Waltz' is the best. I'd probably go Classica or Novembrine Waltz if you just want to check em out, the first album isn't as good production wise, and Arte Novecento is probably the least metal album of the 4 though still good (they actually do a version of 'Stripped' on Arte, before Rammstein did, but it's probably the worst Novembre song IMO.
Well that's the end of my sales pitch LOL, seriously though, if you not heard em, it's worth it - I haven't seen many, if any, people who are disappointed - if they actually hear about them in the first place.

These links are untested (I have all the albums already), but all have full sources - the blokes over at Kerrazy Torrents have recently gotten onto Novembre, so if you prefer torrents, they've been popping up there fairly regularly over the last year or so.

Thanks for the info on the bands I'll check soem of them out...of course I have already got Opeth and novembre but others should check them out..especially opeth..masters of the 20+ minute songs
Yeah..Anaal got their name from Excalibur or actually "The Charm of Making" in which merlin uses in the film.Their early demo work has a self titled song in which they use samples of ole Merlin doing the charm...Not the best production in the world on the demo's but better then I have heard on alot of these bands.
Just about finished a few completed discographies and am willing to rar them up and release them here if anyone is wanting.Right now we'll start at the top of the list with A Canorous Quintet,Abigor,Abnegation,Abominator,Abruptum, and Absu. That is all I did for tonight as far as getting them all...by getting them all I mean demo's and EP's too.Let me know either here or PM my ass. Good to get more metalheads in here.Does my heart proud

Man, a 'few' discopgrahies - if the fifth one is still at 'ab' how many is a few Sounds good to me though. I got a few demos (downloaded, not originals) if I can help out at all, like diSEMBOWELMENT, Catacomb (Novembre), and others.
Hey speaking of Destroyer 666, I've never heard them, but I saw Bestial Warlust live (with Carcass) and I thought they were pretty crap - hopefully Destroyer 666 are a bit different? Damaged (I think Skitz played in Destroyer 666 at one stage??) on the other hand were an awesome band, I still love Do Not Spit. Listening to some of the songs on the latest Slipknot album sound a lot like what Damaged were doing 10 years ago I rekcon (with a bit different vocals though).
Also speaking of Aussie bands, has anyone got any Womnal? I've been trying to find their stuff for years. I got no idea if they've even released anything, but I'm sure I saw their name at a pub as was I driving recently in Melbourne (I'm not from Melbourne), so I assume they would've at least done a demo, as I must've seen them playing about 10 years ago - I remember at the time they were one of the heaviest sounding bands I'd ever heard - I think from memory they had 2 bass guitarists, 2 drummers and a girl on cello.
*edit* I think I found out the name of an album they did "Stupid Dumb Fuck Sucker Fish".
*edit2* awesome - just ordered 2 cds of theirs (pays to serach buying stuff once in a while I guess instead of mp3s) if they're in stock and are any good (they're probably crap now it's been that long), will post em here.
Hey, the new System Of A Down is pretty good I reckon - I like that 'Tentative' song. It's 192Kbps if anyone's wondering (doesn't say at the website)
