What an excellent site design, it looks really great. That guy has to do it for a profession. I bookmarked it just because of that. :o

Blog is funny too and it has torrents, can't ask for more really :)

I'm not one to scrounge normally, but has anyone got any invites for The Horror Charnel. I can't even find out much about the place and would love to have a look and hopefully get involved.

A few lucky dead donkeys made it in a few months ago. TBH you aren't missing much as many of the rips are available elsewhere (like FTi!). The discussions are great, though, the community is nice. They like QUALITY files which makes them seem a snobby (no offense to FH, quality rules!) to newcomers, but after a while of browsing there, you become one of them! I'm pretty sure advancedfilesize started there, too.

There is however so much they don't have, which is surprising, some of it I consider "essential viewing".

Well I guess I'd better start makin some posts!

:beerchug:

dead-donkey is your daddy anyhow and you know it!

Yeah it Is!!!

I just know/am aware that FH is were some quality files live and is quite a good database (if not one of the best) for ed2k movie links/discussion.

I get most of my files from BT but would rather use eMule more if I could help it!

So GrindCallus, which ed2k forum board would you recommend as the best all rounder then?

Cheers mate!

Only other one I knew about was Shareheaven, but FTI looks better, off to reg now!

[edit]next best? so you class FH as the best?[/edit]

I know it's only a matter of opinion :D

I guess, if you want links, then it's no better than FTI. Advanced Filesize Regulation was born at FH so those links get posted there first, but they get cross posted at FTI anyway.

FH has a good community and some real expert rippers, along with very clearly defined and well organised sections. I suppose I think of it as the 'best' general p2p site as it's the one I've used the longest.

HTH. :)

It is the best for a general link database. Knowledgable and kind people frequent/mod, and it has some damn funny threads too. Plus, they are friendly with keeping things shared for long amounts of time.

But yes FTi is the best open site. And our good pappy Spud mods there too.

Only open generel site i use is FTI, merely because if fileheaven doesn't have something, and i can't find it elsewhere fti will or it isn't to be found. Its a nice site, there's a few things that i wouldn't personally do like the segregation of "foreign language" movies, and the low position of the movie sections on the forum index, but i get the movie fix at fh. But its a nice site and probably the best site to be at for general stuff.

I dunno about the no better than FTI, they have different aims. FH is more about movies, music and the like and is leages ahead if that is your concern. FTI usually doesn't get the rips of such variation, rarity and quality, which is partly a management, partly a structure and partly user appraoch. FTI has all sections covered, so you have more attention to gaming for example. Its more like a SR kind of site. Immediately when rips are posted at fileheaven, you get scrutiny and a pride in quality, and with the links all organised in a movie topic you get to see what's the best to come out. To that end its probably the organisation, and rippers there that make it so strong.

I'll put it this way, you might not have any troubles finding the latest episode of lost or a new major movie scene release, but a superior custom rip or a rarer film is a completely different question. A lot of the "non-horror movies" in the section down below are the kind of stuff you'd find on fh but no where else. Of course you can find it via emule searches, but verification and releases of that nature often come to light at fileheaven.

I would say fti gets cams a damn site quicker than fh, if fh gets them at all but then, reading above you know why. The focus of the site when it was set up as quality films in the best quality. Some of the guidelines and ethos of this site is directly from fh, but then there's a couple of things that are the other way round too.

I'm not quite sure how you got this impression, but i have never moderated or been involved at any level in the moderation of FTI. I'm merely a user of the site. The credit for that goes to all there mods, admins, etc. I've never had any involvement in making that site what it is :)

I'm also not involved in running FH either. I moderated, and was an admin that fixed up their bbcode a long while back, but i am just a user at fh too.

----

The second note is regarding the opening status. It s likely never to open mass scale/ permanently. Its is mostly due to server isues. They can't afford and don't want to change their hosting situation, and the sheer amount of traffic will force that change given the size of the site.

So you just have to watch out for notes about an regitration opening for a weekend, or alternatively if you frequently rip or release, you could try finding a mod or an admin there and ask for an account. Worth a shot I guess.

----

Lastly, just a note to say that i've merged this with the sticky topic :)
