The planet from Alien (1979) has been colonized, but contact is lost. This time, the rescue team has impressive firepower, enough?

Can't believe we don't have a rip or this here (or am I too moronic to use the search? :wacky: ). However, to me this is ok in the horror section. If it should have been posted in non-horror/scifi, I'm sure someone will be kind enough to move it. :)

Rip looks fine although I would have prefered it chunkier (1/2 DVD 704+ res) but hey, it's free and maybe someday I'll make a proper AFR. :)

These aren't exactly poop movies but I wouldn't mind a Shitbusters collection nonetheless. :)

Bare in mind that the two cd releases have been stunning for this in the past. I'm suprised you haven't got the four aliens films on DVD in that new boxset. Its a must have DVD imo.

Alien3 extended is great :)

I don't like #3 and 4 much. #3 is ok IMO but the fourth one doesn't work for me so I never bought the set although I was tempted.

fouth is a bonus disc as far as I'm concerned. Its was like £30 for three brilliant films, first two being two of the best films ever made (you get both originals and director's cut), and you get Alien3 extended which makes it a really good movie. Much stronger than it was. I never thought Alien3 was bad its just got an impossible task next to the first two, but the re-edit really sheds new light on what the studio did to it. If only it was allowed to be finished, would have been a very, very good film.

The funny thing is, that just because the fourth movie sucks that really shouldn't be counted against it. Way better than the hellraiser boxset which you bought, which is hard to say cos those movies are great ;) Easily the best box set i own (Brazil Criterion included), you should buy it. Bin the fourth disc or pretend its not there if that's what it takes, its an irrelevant extra.

All the documentaries and commentaries are excellent too, you learn a lot. that's excluding the fourth, that stuff is like promo material... i don't think anyone in their right mind likes the fourth

£16.99 delivered off play.com is a steal
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=ti ... P36=465CLG
That's like buying one and two on dvd singularly. So you get the ok third, and the very good extended for free, and you can bin the pos fourth.

I've seen Alien3 maybe three times and since I didn't like it very much the idea of watching an extended version did never appeal to me. But since you recommend the new cut, I'll give it a final chance to convince me.

And yeah, that set looks like a great buy, I'll probably order it. :)

For me, it was more like negative growth. When I first saw it in a theatre I found it below average but when I last watched it (maybe a year or two ago) I pretty much hated it.

Got the boxset today. If there's enough interest, I could make AFRs (I'm thinking 1/2 DVD per movie). But I have lots of stuff lined up so it's probably gonna take me a while. :)

Watch what you're getting into ; As spud already said, there are already awesome looking 2 & 3 (!) (HD/) cd rips available, better than the mediocre crap in the top post...

Why not list your dvd collection ?
i'm sure there are better ways to waste your bandwidth
