MAJOR ED2K SERVER ISSUES!

Nobody seems to know what's going on, so just look at THE topic about that on the eMule Project Forum, every informations are there :

From now on it’s recommended only to use the Kad network in applications like eMule, aMule and MLDonkey. Forget the eD2k servers, many of them left are fake, setup by anti piracy organizations to monitor you.

Hope it will not be the end of eDonkey Servers... will see.

Yeah, and it's working pretty good. I'm connected right now, since the last four days, and everything is fine... i'm just not connected to any servers, just in case :wink:

Seems a bit weird not being connected to a server, but Kad seems to be working quite nice. Got the Node update too, thanks.

What's the difference between the nodes.dat I have in eMule/Config and the one you're talking to update with. I saw that the file is bigger, but for what ?? does it contain more source, and if so, why ?

I don't really understand this one, so, before updating my nodes.dat, I want to know what't the difference and why I should update it

cause right now, it's working pretty well. I have 813 contatcs, 90% are green and some are blue...

Well I just assumed it was an update of sorts, so I copied it over to the config folder of eMule.

I have 713 contact at last count. Everything seems fine.

883 contacts right now, i'm downloading at 146 k./sec. and I have 6730 people waiting in my queue so I don't know why I should update with that ''no proof of source'' nodes.dat :twisted:

Who recommends this? And isn't this a scare story as well?

(They are watching you!! Watch out!! Maybe they'll break and enter your house!! And then they'll smash your PC and everything on it!!)

I'd be delighted to get an asnwer to this question AND I'm very curious about that nodes.dat file as well. Why would I need such an update?

Well, just look at the two link i've give, did you even open them ??? it is written there... and just think about it, every German servers were closed by an Anti-P2P compagny, and then all others follow so to prevent an accusation so...

It's not that I didn't understand it, EvilDeadlyImmortal, but it's just that I don't see BREIN people (who are incredibly stupid - I know them, they're from my country) knocking on my door to fine me for downloading using eMule very soon, or even at all.

I just wanted to point out that scare stories can work both ways.

This seems fair enough, and since it doesn't take any effort or risk to disconnect from eMule servers, I just did so.

and i'm sure that nobody from BREIN will come knock at our doors but still, they can monitor us, and I don't want that !! :twisted:

So, just like you, I'm not connected to any servers for the moment and I will not untill some real servers come out. There is many guys on the eMule Project forum that seems to trust the TVU servers, but me, i'll past for the moment...

And about the nodes.dat update, I'll stick with the one that come with eMule right now cause I've NEVER saw any nodes.dat files on any web site to update, only servers.dat files that comes from Gruk or PeerRates or whatever, but never heard anything about a nodes.dat files. I may be wrong, and probably I am, but if anybody could help us here, tell us where to find any nodes.dat updated files for the future if there is such files, it could be very appreciated by all of us... :wacky:

And just to let you know, NOBODY on the eMule Project forum have talked about that nodes.dat files in the topic, so I guess this is not recommended to update this with that file, cause those guys probably know more about eMule then us !!! :wink:
