I was wondering if anyone can recommend some decent old anime. Maybe 80's stuff to early ninties. I don't want nothing too sappy. Movies I like are Wicked City, Monster City, The Guyver (TV), Golgo 13.

Basically I dunno if anyone in England remembers the old Manga Entertainement VHS, looking for any recommendations from that label.

rthanks

I remember two anime's from my childhood. One is Lupin III and the other was some kind of future detectives that used laser pistols (don't know the name, but there are probably dozens of this kind).

You find some information about Lupin III here: http://www.absoluteanime.com/lupin/
You can also browse the list of the animes: http://www.absoluteanime.com/anime.html

Try Devil Man 1 & 2.

They're like a Japanese take on Lovecraft.

I prefer movies to TV series but I will check your stuff out fellows and report back.

Anyone seen the GUYVER? Thats some hardcore shit, i watched thta when i was like 12 and dammmmn its great. SO good. I love the guyver. I ordered a few DVDs aswell recently.

I got Devil Man but on VHS! Do you believe it? VHS I got the first and section tape (birth and demon bird I think). Why? Because all the other ones on ebay were like complete collection and stuff, TV eps. nah im not there yet, just dipping in at the moment. And since I wanna be retro and watch stuff simular to what manga entertainment realesed I thought forget the simular, ill watch an original realese and go from there. PEACE OVE AND MONKEY?!

I had the miss fortune of seeing Vampire Hunter D dubbed and it was an awful experience.

Whatever you do, do not watch the dub of this!
