Quote:
What in Hell is going on at Headstone Manor? In this hilarious spoof of every horror fan’s favourite films, a team of mad scientists, led by Dr. Lukas Mandeville (Kenny Everett) and his assistant Dr. Barbara Coyle (Pamela Stephenson) are investigating paranormal phenomena in the mysterious manor. Unknown to the scientists, their presence is about to incur the wrath of a local coven of bumbling but determined Satanists led by a 700-year-old disciple of the Devil known only as the Sinister Man (Vincent Price), all of whom are prepared to stop at nothing in purging the house of the unwelcome intruders.

Scripted by Barry Cryer (The Two Ronnies; The Kenny Everett Television Show), BLOODBATH AT THE HOUSE OF DEATH is a killer mixture of gross-out horror, shameless Carry On-style comedy and more than a little bit of kitsch zaniness. It revels in its merciless parodies of a lengthy checklist of horror and genre movies such as Alien, The Entity, Carrie, An American Werewolf in London, Jaws and The Shining.

Never before released on DVD anywhere in the world and now remastered from the original vault negatives, BLOODBATH AT THE HOUSE OF DEATH stars a whole host of familiar faces from British film and television including influential radio DJ and comedian Kenny Everett, Pamela Stephenson (Superman III; Not the Nine O’Clock News), Gareth Hunt (The New Avengers), Don Warrington (Grange Hill; Rising Damp), John Fortune (Bremner, Bird and Fortune), Sheila Steafel (The Ghosts of Motley Hall), Cleo Rocos (The Kenny Everett Television Show; Celebrity Big Brother), Graham Stark (the Pink Panther movies) and horror legend, Vincent Price.

Is there some specific encoding filter involved here? This rip looks very much like the great rips of elguaxo. There seems to be a filter which adds intelligent noise to some parts of the image that results in more detail when sharpened. Am I correct or am I hallucinating? :D

If there's any similarity to anything of elguaxo's I'm sure it's by blind luck rather than by design. :lol:

It's a script using mvdegrain and degrain median, which improved the compressibility and the result over the Seesaw script I used first.

No. :lol:

I ran the whole encode using a script that uses Seesaw. Wasn't impressed with the results so scrapped it and started again with a different script that gave this result. :)

Wow a Vincent Price movie I've never heard about! :rock:
ViSCeRaL, is that script for AVISynth? Is it addable to .AVS projects created with GodianKnot? Or is it something to be used with VirtualDub only?

Yeah it's just AVISynth:

Code:
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\DGMPGDec\DGDecode.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\removegrain.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\decomb.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\degrainmedian.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\warpsharp.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\MaskTools.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\mt_masktools.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\mvtools\mvtools.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\repair.dll")
Import("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\LimitedSharpenFaster.avs")
Import("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\Soothe.avs")
Import("C:\VIDEOE~1\GORDIA~1\AviSynthPlugins\seesaw.avs")

DGDecode_mpeg2source("H:\Ripping\NTBS2\ntbs.d2v")
Fielddeinterlace()
crop(10,78,700,420)
Spline36Resize(704,288)
source=last
denoised=DegrainMedian(mode=4)
backward_vec2 = MVAnalyse(denoised,isb = true, delta = 2, pel = 2, overlap=4, sharp=1, idx = 1)
backward_vec1 = MVAnalyse(denoised,isb = true, delta = 1, pel = 2, overlap=4, sharp=1, idx = 1)
forward_vec1 = MVAnalyse(denoised,isb = false, delta = 1, pel = 2, overlap=4, sharp=1, idx = 1)
forward_vec2 = MVAnalyse(denoised,isb = false, delta = 2, pel = 2, overlap=4, sharp=1, idx = 1)
MVDegrain2(source,backward_vec1,forward_vec1,backward_vec2,forward_vec2,thSAD=200,idx=2)

a= last

b=a.degrainmedian(mode=5)

SeeSaw(a,b, NRlimit=5, NRlimit2=7, Sstr=1.5, Slimit=1, Spower=2, Sdamplo=6, soothet=50, Szp=16)

It is a bit of a rig killer though, over 24 hours on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 2.5GHz with 2GB of RAM.
