Reservation Road--not really a horror movie--good drama about a couple losing their child in a hit and run and the need for vengeance from the father--Joaquin Phoenix and Jennifer Connelly starred. Sad but enjoyable--Not really horror so don't beat me up....

Friday August 22nd--Oberon and I watched the Psychic by Fulci--we were amazed at the lack of grue--however, the opening scene was priceless Fulci--a slow and gory fall down a large cliff with lots of close ups of the face bashing against the rocks---You have to love Fulci and all his stinky-ness--Everytime I watch one of his movies there is at least one Woah outburst followed by inappropriate laughter...

Mutant - chemical waste makes people bleed yellow goo and contaminate others. They turn into some kind of zombies. Not good, some laughs. Mediocre. Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death - very funny film with a hilarious story about a women's tribe in the Californian jungle. Dr Hunt is hot and the overall irony of this film makes it very enjoyable. Evil Toons - some sexy 80s chicks get haunted by a cartoon monster. The monster action is dull, as it is animated, but the women make up for it

Beyond Reanimator (2003): Kinda went back and forth between serious horror and campyness and then finally decided on the camp side. The end credits with the mouse and the dismembered member was disturbingly funny. Overall I liked it. I always dig Jeffery Combs.

The Humanoid - if you like hilariously bad movies, check out this one! It has a robo-dog, lots of laserfights, a bad guy named Lord Graal who is dressed up like a second hand Darth Vader and a cosmic mad scientist who creates humanoids.

Darkest Hour - stupid, cliche and without any plot. The film just ends because nobody is left alive. I can easily give away this spoiler, because if you listen to my advice, you will never even watch this movie. Avoid!
Virgins from Hell - great piece of cult trash! Large group of women in sexy outfits are a motorgang who are planning to destroy a drug syndicate. The weapons have to be seen to be believed, as are the fighting sequences. The sfx are hilarious, as is the storyline and most of the acting. If you love a good film, avoid this. If you love a bad film to have a good laugh, watch this one, you won't be disappointed!

The Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008): You know, remakes are bad enough but if you're going to go to the trouble of a sequel a variation in the plot might be in order. Besides the occasional gore scene (I did like the water balloon grenade launcher) not much to recommend I'm afraid.

Satan's Slave - I expected a nunsploitation, but I got something else instead. I was disappointed. This tries to be mysterious and supernatural but all it does is killing 90 minutes, that's it.
Gore-Met, zombie chef from hell - stupid movie, with a lot of bad stuff in it. For example: it is not about zombies, a zombie, or a zombie chef. It is about a guy getting some cannibalistic curse by "The Brotherhood". Right. Delete.
Monster Dog - to my surprise Alice Cooper was in this one, which is a big plus. I guess I knew it back then when I clicked, but it has been a long time and several hundred movies since then, so it was a nice surprise. The story isn't much although they give it a good try, the monster dog is nice in the very few shots it gets.

The Corpse Grinders - the idea of the story is quite original (people steal corpses to grind them and sell them as catfood), but although this movie only runs for 73 mins it succeeds in being boring with only a few exceptions. Shame, this could have been much better. Best thing is the grindermachine, which makes the catfood: it looks brilliant!

It's been a while since I posted here, so I'm gonna post a list of moview, not necessarily in the order in which I watched them, but who cares.
Spawn of the Slithis - cheap scifi monster flick, which is cool until the monster shows up, which is pretty soon. The monster is ridiculous, as is the rest of this movie. Slithis, come on...
Kill Squad - the plot of this fighting/kick and punch flick is somewhat farfetched, but this is really one of those typical 70s and 80s movies in which the fighting is central and the story is unimportant.
Hillbillys in a haunted house - if they wouldn't sing all the time (or, so very often), this could have been nice, but these hillbillys irritate the hell out of me when they pour out their "musical talents". Nice if you like bad movies.
Stalag 69 - this is a porn movie, and coincidentally someone in a nazi suit walks by. Seriously, I have never seen such hardcore scenes in a nazisploitation, so I really consider this a porn movie.
The Midnight Hour - lame superfluous movie about demons from the past rising from their tombs because some teenagers steal their suits from a museum and read out aloud an old spell (why people keep doing tht in horrorfilms is a mystery to me). The demons turn into some mixed zombie/vampire creatures and can all be undone by burying the scroll. If saving the world was so very simple, why does it last for 90 mins?
The Machine Girl - I liked this one, the machinegun arm rocks. It is overdone, the Japanese way.
The Other Hell - this is some sort of a mystery movie: who is the possessed nun in the convent? Quite a nice storyline for a nunsploitation, although this could have been shortened by at least 20 mins.
Alien Terror - boring, I was expecting more of this one, as it was part of the Night of Bad Taste DVD. Well, the very, very few sacenes in which the alien comes around, you don't even get to see it for longer than a split second and then only in the dark/half dark.
Scorpius Gigantus - very bad CGI, but Jeff Fahey and his soldiers make up for it. Nice monsterflick, if you don't care much about storyline and logic in a movie.
Vampire Call Girls - short movie with a lot of tits and needless sex scenes. The vampire action is somewhat meager and the storyline, well, I forgot already all about it.
Pork Chop Hill - decent warmovie in which the Chinese propaganda is the coolest thing. "Good evening, K-company. You are K-company, aren't you? How nice of you to come visit us. Of course you want to see where we live now. Remember what happened to the former tenants?" Recommended.

Skinned Deep (2004): If I would have to describe it with one word: weird. This is the movie from which vermin's avatar is from. The movie looks like 90s weirdo horror movie. Actually it is quite bad but the weirdness makes it stand out. This is definitely an SBiG movie. Strange characters - Brain (sometimes called Brian ) with a huge head, Plate a pale dwarf played by Warwick Davis throwing plates to kill people ... - and a quite simple kidnapping story is what you get. Recommended if you like strange horror movies like Ice Cream Man and The Brain for instance. Alien Hunter (2003): James Spader in a lame "The Thing" rip off. I've read some nice reviews about this so I watched it. It was quite cheesy, predictable, boring and the alien appears only for some minutes before it is killed. The ending was a bit special, but if you know that there is going to be a "happy end" it wasn't unexpected.

Oberon and I are watching Faerie Tale Theater (Shelley Duvall's series from the eighties) and we watched "The boy who left home to find the shivers" last night which rocked our world--it starred Peter McNicol of Dragonslayer and Ghostbusters II fame, Christopher Lee David Warner (of Time after Time and so much more)and narrated by Vincent Price--to say we were creaming in our pants would put it lightly --highly recommend the series! we are also working through the Veil hosted by Boris Karloff--also great for fans of classic horror and Twilight Zone type stuff.

Jack Be Nimble (1993): Nice dark touched horror movie about a separated brother and sister with supernatural powers trying to find each other. In it's style it's a B movie, but for a B movie it was pretty good. Grim Prairie Tales (1990): Two people meat on a lonely prairie and tell each other four stories to pass the time. I was dissapointed by this movie. The stories are not scary enough. This maybe something for small children. Bubba Ho-Tep (2004): This movie is about Elvis living in an elderly home. He has to fight an ancient mummy that starts to suck the souls of his mates. For some reason I expected much more from this. It seemed too long. There was no gore, only very few scary scenes and too much Elvis lying around thinking about old times.

The Guardian (1990) William Friedkin directed this film so I had high hopes (not like the Exorcist high, but a good feeling) and I actually thought it was good! The special effects were decent and not over used, the acting was acceptable, and the plot was ok. If you like evil druids stealing babies, you'll love this film.

Today I Watched:
-Return of the living dead part 3. Definitely Better that 2.
-Bad Taste (For the very first time) I must say I loved this movie. Peter Jackson should get off his ass and finally make the sequel.
-Currently watching Black Dragons. Old b/w movie, I'll post my thoughts when I'm done with it.
