Zombie Strippers (2008): Mindless fun with some good gore scenes and lots of uncovered tits. Acting is passable and Robert Englund is just great to watch. Highly recommended for some good times.

Puppet Master (1989): Very well done B-movie from the late 80s. It has good atmosphere and lovely puppets. The story is very simple, but it's much fun to watch.

Stephen King's: Graveyard Shift (1990): I consider this one a very lame horror movie. It has only very few gore and it's NOT scary at all. It is filled with unnecessary character development and bullsh*t being talked most of the time. Probably rescued by good acting at some extent, but this is definitely something you will only watch once.

Finished watching 7 Up and Shoah and watched several other, mainly war movies. I think I start watching horror again today.

7 Up - nice documentary in which Michael Apted follows several children from when they're 7 years old and revisits them every other 7 years. The next part is gonna be released when they're 56, which will be in 2013.

Shoah - gripping film about the holocaust in which only landscapes, ruins and people being interviewed are shown. The impact comes from what they say. Very long (9 hours), therefore impossible to watch in one go, especially because it will be emotionally draining.

The Vietnam War - 7 part American documentary on Vietnam. It is overly obvious that this was made in the US, therefore it is not really a documentary, it's more of a show.

Hidden Egypt - bad documentary about ancient Egypt. Weird theories are presented and not explained, the subtitles are way off at times and the different parts have a big overlap.

Beavis and Butthead Do America - I know this one almost by heart, but it is still very funny. If you haven't seen it yet, go watch it.

Tali Ihantala - Finnish movie about the Russo-Finnish war in WOrld War II. It's nice to see that part of the war in a film, but the film itself didn't impress me. It kind of walked along until it ended. It didn't seem to have any plot, just recording things which happened.

Dawn Patrol - 1938 film about World War I flyers with the standard heroism and comradeship. Nothing shocking, rather adventurous at times.

Gallipoli - Mel Gibson stars in this movie about Australian soldiers going to Turkey to fight in the battle of Gallipoli in 1916. Most of the film is not about the war, but about the Australians signing up for it. I know why they are followed so closely, but the effect is not as shocking as in other films I've seen.

Objective Burma - made in 1945 while the war was still raging, I think this film was meant to give the American public hope of eventually beating the Japanese. Apart from the newspaperman being very old for his job, I thought this movie was quite nice. It has a good pace fo its age and there is enough change between walking in the jungle and action sequences. It runs for 141 minutes, which is a little too long.

In Enemy Hands - nice submarine film with Willim H. Macy as the chief of boat in a submarine which gets hit by the Germans. They get captured, but because some of them are sick, soon almost everyone is dying of this sickness. Now the Germans and the Americans must work together in order to survive. Not the best submarine film I've seen, but good enough for some fun. The director tries to make it look probable, an he succeeds mostly.

Sahara - this one is made in 1943, and as I read on imdb, it contains "everything the US government wanted the US public to see about war". Terefore we have heroic Americans who even save their enemies and so on. Not so enjoyable, but very good for teaching about propaganda ;)

El Alamein, in the line of fire - Italian movie about Italians in North Africa. This one is very good, it is almost as good as "Stalingrad". I really liked the way their hopelessness is portrayed. Outnumbered and cut off rom supplies, they tell each other stories about Italy and how great life is there. In the background the English are closing in. I really liked this one, probably the best of the ones I posted here.

The Spell (1977): A dork Carrie rip-off with a very young Helen Hunt. It starts quite interesting, but becomes boring and then it's suddenly over. Not really recommended, unless you are a Helen Hunt fan.

Witches Night - kind of funny, this lil flick on witches. It gave me the feeling it was making fun of Blair Witch, and apart frpm that it had several funny jokes. I actually laughed, which is a compliment for the movie.

Shock Waves - pretty good zombiemovie, although the "perfect soldiers" are not actually zombies, as they can't die, and hence they haven't risen from the dead. The way the story is told is nice and the atmosphere makes the film. Sometimes the actors could have put a little more effort in their acting, but hey, it was 1977.

Caligula II - Messalina, Messalina - this movie tries to make a funny sequel for Caligula. Whereas Caligula is absurd and shocking, this second installment is unfunny and boring at most times, although I must say I could easily have fun with both Messalina and Agrippina alike: they look gorgeous.

Accion Mutante - great fun to watch this. A resistance group fighting the ideal looks of society welcomes its leader, just released from prison. With him among the ranks, the blunders of the past few years will be forgotten soon. Very funny example of Stockholm syndrome. Recommended.

Inside (2007): A pure bloodbath. Great horror movie about a woman who is terrorized by another woman willing to take her unborn child away.

Phenomena (1985): Dario Argento movie with Jennifer Connelly and Donald Pleasence. Good story and atmosphere. Connelly plays a girl that can communicate with insects. With the help of a professor she starts to use her talent to track down a mysterious murderer. The musical scores were created by famous rock bands like Iron Maiden. Unfortunately they do not fit. The music in some scenes is terribly off course imho.

The Omega Man (1971): Apocalyptic scenario with Charlton Heston in which a strange virus turned people into stupid sect members. Passable story and stupid ending imho.

Nightfylers (1987): Somewhere reviewed as a similar movie like Event Horizon, it is nowhere near as good. No real suspense, because you always know the main enemy. No character development, low budget gore and special effects. I was a bit disappointed.

Zombie Nation - Ulli Lommel mess. Zombies appear only at the end of the movie and the rest of this flick i so totally bad, you can choose to cry or to laugh about it. Try to find out how many locations he is using, for example.

Rogue - good story, this croc film. Too bad the rip was so bad: a deblocking script would have saved it.

100 Feet - nice film about Famke Janssen who killed her husband in self defense, but now has to face him in ghostly form. Some nice moments of excitement.

American Zombie - funny mockumentary on zombies as a minority: they want civil rights as well and have action groups promoting that.

Monster High - funny 80s flick about the postponement of earth's destruction. I think this film is underrated.

Vampyr - classic vampire movie, only for those interested in old b/w movies.

The Sword and the Sorcerer - cliche fantasy which runs too long. Only the sword which can shoot blades is cool, the rest is totally forgettable.

Watched:

Hellraiser part 1 : Great, loved it.

Resident Evil Extinction : As usual not great, but pretty decent if you consider it an action movie.

Frankenhooker : More comedy than anything, and pretty funny.

Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds - less funny, but gorier (especially in the bodily fluid department) than part 1. If this weren't a sequel to Feast, my opinion would have been more positive. I guess my expectations were risen too high after having seen part 1. Some jokes aren't funny, some aren't even jokes. There's small shock value in a scene with a baby. Still, I enjoyed watching this.

Cheerleader Ninjas - meant as a comedy, this has very dull jokes (on the level of: smell my fart, hihihihi) and pretty smart ones. I laughed regularly, but almost cried at other attempts of "humour". This movie is saved by the fact the story evolves around two groups of girls: cheerleaders on one side and catholic schoolgirls on the other. Both groups wear short skirts all the time, so as a man, you just keep watching. The horrorpart of this is hilarious instead of scary. If you hate short skirts, avoid this movie.

Walking with Cavemen - docudrama about the dawn of man. Some of the monkeysuits are really ugly and the intervention of the narrator into the scene is irritating. Some of the footage and explanation is interesting and I even learned some stuff I didn't know yet, although I also saw some aspects which aren't entirely true.

Hallow's End (2003): Unfortunately the only real Halloween movie I managed to watch at Halloween. :( This is quite forgettable. Some people team up in a haunted house. They decorate it and scare the people at Halloween night. Unfortunately they start turning into creatures according their costumes. Sounds fun, but the movie is bad. Most of the time the stupid kiddies insult each other and talk bullshit.

Troll 2 (1990): Great fun green movie. I think I've already seen this one several years ago on German television. The actors say everything in such long detailed sentences that you start thinking "do you think I'm dumb or what?". The acting is quite bad, the special effects are passable, but it's so funny that I can't hate this movie.

Witchouse - kind of cliche, but it ended very suddenly, I mean, it was over way sooner than I expected. The witch was pretty easy to kill, in a way it reminded me of the Bone Eater. Everyone gets killed, anti hero does something pretty simple - he wins! Yay! End of the movie.

Piranha - I had already seen Piranha II - the Spawning and I must say, that if you like a bad movie to laugh about, watch part II and if you like a good movie, watch neither of them. This was just totally predictable, bad effects (in a way it is boring - suggested effects) and the rip looked like block feast on my TV.

Population 436 (2006): Passable movie which is more like a thriller - according to Slayer's definition. It was often a bit too predictable and lacks scary moments. There are better movies to watch.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008): I saw this in a cinema in Austria for 8,30 €. I must say that I felt like this movie is average. The character development felt dumb, the jokes weren't funny at all and the story was rather boring. To me this movie failed in every aspect. It wasn't entertaining and sometimes it felt really stupid. Avoid it if possible.

Vampire's Kiss (1989): Nicolas Cage is awesome in this one. Jennifer Beals looks hot as a vampire. But this movie isn't really what it seems to be. I won't tell more to avoid spoilers. Last thing to say: I probably didn't like it, because I expected something else.

100 Feet (2008): Ghost story with Famke Jannsen. It failed to entertain me. The atmosphere was poor and the ghost looked dull. There was one brutal scene which made me think: "Who the f*ck had this crazy idea of mutilating someone like this?" - it came so unexpected and simply didn't fit into this movie. You save yourself more than an hour if you don't watch this. :wacky:

She - this movie gives you everything you want from a B-movie. In a post-apocalyptic world, this female goddess works together with two guys she initially hates, to rescue their kidnapped sister. The various creatures they encounter on their journey are hilarious! I had a great time watching this, and the 1 hour and 45 minutes aren't a second too much! Recommended!

Me deleted the file because the movie looked too hilarious. Really too hilarious.

Non-horror:

Les Femmes de L'ombre - great film about female secret agents in France a few days prior to D-Day. Packed with action, drama and tension, this one entertained me a lot. In fact, I hadn't been entertained that much for quite a while (by a movie, that is). If you are even slightly into action, espionage or World War II, go watch this one, it is a must see!

The Battle of the Japan Sea - long, but versatile story about the 1905 Russo-Japanese war. I expected a lot of legnthy sea battle shots, but they were interspersed enough with shots of land action, officer talks and espionage in Europe to make it entertaining. Too bad the AR was pretty far off.

The Kindred (1987): This was absolutely great! Mainly because of the monsters. It's about a scientist, who tries to create life artificially which results in a hybrid (half human, half octopus) creature. However that creature is anything but friendly. The story was simple but interesting. The acting was good. It managed to keep the suspense high throughout the entire movie. So at the end I felt like: wow, this was really worth watching!

My Best Friend Is a Vampire (1988): Neat and funny movie about a teenager turning into a vampire after being bitten by a hot vampire chick. The story is interesting and the acting is good (there are some famous faces in this one). At the middle the movie felt a little bit boring to me, but it became interesting again towards the end. If you like movies like "Night Of The Creep" you will love this one.
