Darkness

is the original release thread..

The first hour is kind of boring, but i was surprised that the last portion was actually quite frightening. I recomend this, especially
if your a Jaccob's Ladder fan, or have spent your lifetime dedictated to evil.

Its kind of fits into the Haunted House/Fuckin with Evil subgenre.

DAMN! You weren't kidding! this movies simply kicks arse!! Really creepy, atmospheric. reminded me a little about The Eye and Dark Water.

Only sad thing was that they spoke/whispered a little too soft when explaining the whole thing, and I didn't get it.... =(
I've downloaded the subs, and reading through the whispering parts now...

now I'm gonna check out this directors last film with tons of sources:

OT..La.Pelicula.YA].avi
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0336940
now where to find subs?

And the film he made before that which got even better reviews than darkness. Found two versions, each with alot of sources:

Los Sin Nombre By Xxnandoxx Spanish Divx.avi
Los Sin Nombre.avi
Los_Sin_Nombre_(2000)_OBELiSCO_(Spanish).ShareReactor.English.SubPack.rar

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0222368

yeah,
with the amount of people who seem to really dislike this film, i'm sure part is do to that talking quietly, it is a real pain. I think they do it on purpose, so the sudden 'bumBUMMP' or music catches people off gaurd to startle them.
it was nice to watch it again to see all the things i missed the first time.

eh, i'm still not sure if that mom lady was a nurse or something. Maybe spanish people inherently know how to give trachyotomies, or she watched an episode of the learning channel and became a fully qualified surgical doctor, like me. As a matter of fact, did any of the character's even have a job?

i'm downing them two movies u posted, too. from the amount of dislike the imdb reviewer poster said for it and for spanish people in general, it has too be good.
Sin nombre, Los seems to have a good review, so i wont trust it.

yeah, the mom was a nurse. got it from reading through the subs. that's why she always came home in the middle of the night.

What I didn't get was why they moved there in the first place?

The mother said it on the phone, that the painkillers she gave her husband after he cut himself didn't go well with his drugs and that she should have known this as a nurse.

The movie is great, although too predictable.

Don't you think that she acts a little weird throughout the whole movie? Why does she want to come back to the house? She knows herself that strange thighs are happening there and her daughter presents her some weird story, perhaph not very plausible, but still...

As fot the subs, I can recommend you a page to use as a last resort. It's one of the biggest collections of subs on the net. It's in Polish, but it's got a search function and the results are marked with flags, so you probably won't get lost. Usually it has tons of Polish subs and 2 or 3 English versions, occasionally you can find some french and german subs too.

http://divxstation.com/subtitles.asp also has alot.

but for asian files you have to use kloofy's site. it's on the top of the asian movie forum.

ahh.. Then check out some Polanski stuff. He is also very good a getting that 'something-is-a-miss' fealing in his films. See 'The 9th Gate' and 'Death and the Maiden'.

oh, you might wanna check out 'The Hole' as well.

its ok, more of a mystery than 'horror'. well made film, just not one of my favorites.

A few posts earlier?... :)

I'm downloading the xxnandoxx version, but both seem to be equally well spread. Also, both are in Spanish.

Don't forget 'Death and the Maiden' that's really good! The hole is also quite upsetting... and you can even watch it with chicks. That don't mean it's not good though.

Both are availible and should be rather well spread. Don't know why they aren't on the main list. just do a search
