Synopsis
Also known by its alternate title City of the Dead, this 1960 horror thriller makes the most of its low-budget, studio-bound limitations to offer an abundance of eerie atmosphere frequently compared to the chilling horror stories of H.P. Lovecraft. Christopher Lee stars as the seemingly benevolent Professor Driscoll, who sends his eager student Nan (Venetia Stevenson) to the town of Whitewood, Massachussetts to research local legends of witchcraft. In a coincidental parallel to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (which was released the same year), the young heroine is killed off early in the film when she is used as a human sacrifice by a present-day coven of witches led by Lee himself. (Talk about teacher's pet!) As it turns out, the entire town is overrun by monklike zombies who perform gruesome nocturnal rituals in the local graveyards. Nan's bereaved boyfriend struggles to eliminate this monstrous brood--at the cost of his life! Heavy on mood and light on plot, this is vintage horror for die-hard fans--perfect as a Halloween perennial.

Ok, you may want to hold off on the above file I posted as I've just done a bit of research and the Redemption release runs for 84 mins and is uncut, so I've just ordered it, my 27th Dvd I've bought in the last week :lol:

Great! I don't know your encoding skills, but while I'm here, let me paste this guide for GordianKnot I always use to obtain excellent results. It's translated from italian, I didn't write it. It's supposed to be used after launching the CompCheck AND assuming you know GordianKnot:

FIRST PASS

IMPORTANT: Every time you open the codec settings, always click on the bottom left LOAD DEFAULT.

Profile @ Level: leave "unrestricted", which is the default

right-click the profile @ level, "more ..."

1) Global Motion Compensation and Quarter Pixel defaults are deselected and that's fine (not compatible with the SA)

2) Uncheck "Packet Bitstream" which by default is selected (incompatible with most of SA)

3) Quantization type: H.263 used for movies on a CD (or low bitrate) and MPEG for 2CD movies (or high bitrate)

4) B-VOP's: 2-1.00-1.00 set (default: 2-1.50-1.00)

Press OK and exit the screen, you return to the starting tab

Encoding Type: put "Twopass - 1st pass"

At the bottom, where there is "Quality Preset", right click on "more ..."

Motion search precision: to "6 - Ultra High"

VHQ: put 4 - Wide Search

VHQ for b-frames Too: Suggested to always tick

USE CHROMA = MOTION checked by default, leave it checked

Maximum I-frame interval: 300 for less compressible films

- 250 for others (sometimes even 200 is fine)

I-frame boost: there is 10 by default, put 20

Overflow treatement: where now there is 5/5/5, put 0/4/9 (good for almost all combinations)

press the OK at the bottom

At the bottom, where there is "Quality Preset", right click on "more ..."

At the top click on Quantization, and where there 2-31-2-31-2-31

set like this: 2-3-2-4-2-5 when the film has a good CT (above 75%)

set like this: 2-3-2-4-2-6 when the movie has a decent CT (between 65% and 75%)

set like this: 2-4-2-6-2-8 when the film has little CT (below 65%)

END SECOND PASS

Please note that the QUANTIZAZION TYPE (H.263 or MPEG) must be equal for both passes.

I've attached a custom matrix: I always use this instead of the suggested H263 and MPEG, because it's able to deflate filesize while keeping best quality. You can analyze your rips' DRF with AVInaptic and see how good and compact quantization this guide gives.

Lol, ok, Slayer has just managed to persuade me to take my first steps into using GK in the last couple of days, been using AutoGK up until then, will copy and paste your advice/guidance into evernote so I can read through it later and see if I can get a grip on it, as for using a custom matrix I may need some more guidance :lol:

Ah, ok, these two passages are for the XviD settings, all the previous part in which you set filesize, resolution, AR, etc, is omitted. The custom matrix is very simple to use, you just select MPEG-Custom instead of H263/MPEG, then "Load matrix" and select the Jawor one I've attached here. In both passes. :lol:
