There is an american "Signature Collection Laserdisc Box" of The Frighteners from Peter Jackson out there.
Director himself called it "The Director?s Fun Cut"....
According to http://www.schnittberichte.com it?s 12 minutes longer than the customarily DVD. Who has got this jewel??????
Need this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, could be. runtime of this laserdisc is 123min, directors cut dvd 122min....but that could just be improper data.....anyway: i haven?t seen this directors cut dvd either.

was on laserdisc, I only ever knew one guy with a laserdisc player, and he had frightners, star wars trilogy and terminator i think.
I assumed it was on DVD too, but it turns out its not Was quite good actually.
You checked to see if bloodweiser, grimrippers, etc. have ripped it?

The Director's Cut DVD is a bootleg. The laserdisc of the Director's Cut is the only one that was officially released. FLAiR released a 7 disc VCD release of it including all the FOUR hour documentary!. Problem is...I've never been able to find the damn thing anywhere. I sooooo wish I'd have bought the thing when I had my laserdisc player.

a dir. cut? strange. I've read that Jackson hated this film and did it mostly for the money.
That's not to say I wouldn't download it though... =)

he made a four hour documentry for the second laserdisc, and goes on and on about his storyboards... sounds like he loves it to me Infact, four hours... hell that's one step away from bumming it
btw, that cover posted up a bit looks like a custom job, look at how photoshopped over the top the Director's Cut text looks on the frontpage
