Hi guys,
A few (11) of us are off to Dam at the end of April and we've taken
over a hotel near central station.
We went there last year and spent most of our time in Smokey's
on the Rembrandtplein.Don't get me wrong it was very good, we also did one of the Bulldogs in the red light district, but could anyone recommend a coffeeshop that is resonable for food as well?
Not sure why but i tend to get a might hungry when i go into
one of these cafes

Also any one on this board live there,or can't you remember?

I seem to recall it was a struggle to find anything but Heiniken
to drink, and then they never gave you a full pint.

John

Your right about the pints, but I found out that if you ask for it their usually very helpfull :)
And you should also get around to going to Leidseplein (nice cafe/bar district)

PS! What the hell is wrong with Heineken? :)

LMAO !

That's the way beer is being served in some countries, indeed as I recall MOST countries...

Can't recommend anything about pot, I'm waaayyyyy past those days, but if you're having trouble finding any cofeeshops than mister your doing something wrong....

Yes heiniken ( together with amstel , same mother company) is overwhelmingly dominanting that area, but you know there are still liquer stores...otherwise ASK for brands - most people in amsterdam speak better english than the people in your nearest shitbarn village....
And finally , as is more and more common , a beer inside costs less than a beer outside

 Yep - Dutch chicks aren't overrated ; we're chuffed with em
And eh....I suppose Cycling does contribute to it....not sure if it's enough ground to make a case of it though...

AND Paying to piss ? What pub have you been in ? If you take a consumption It's your right to take a free piss.....otherwise just go to another pub...
Jeezus the way some people make money - first they charge you filling you up, then they charge you for draining you - pun intended
