Say , I didn't like this movie that much and was therefor not in a hurry to ask.........but it does bug me now....

Did I fell asleep during the movie and missed it , or wasn't there supposed to be a old chinese Kung-fu master ( WHITE Lotus look-alike for insiders  ) fighting with Uma , he sommersaulted onto her sword for god's sake......?!?!

I didn't see it.....

Yep, it arrived. Cut :(

TBH dvd from asia's excuse about not seeing the movie holds no water, I'm sure they know the difference between Thai and Japanese therefore they should NEVER have sold it Japanese.

So since i watched this flick only once, and scroling through this topic i suddenly noticed that there are some screenshots of the big fight nearly at the end of the film which are in colour, the version i have suddenly turns black and white when a guy his eye is pulled out. Quite frankly it seemed a little odd at the moment i saw it but never paid that much attention to it cause it seems to fit the movie but reading through this topic i can conclude that the version i have is cut. :matrix: which suxz too much lol !!!! Stupid censorship
IMHO the movie was good but not that good to d/l it again i think I'll stick with the black and white unless you guys convince me in d/l the other :)

It's not strictly a question of censorship, Tarantino intended the Western and Asian versions to be slightly different well before release, although he probably kept the MPAA in mind when preparing the Western version.

The Asian version is a bit stronger because "They can take that kind of shit". You could say that since both versions are director-approved, that neither can be deemed as inferior.

It'd be interesting to see if the Asian version would be censored by the MPAA, I have a feeling the BBFC might have let it pass uncut, and maybe one day they will if it is submitted for the inevitable 2 movie box set.

Yeah, but what i don't understand it this: [quote]They can take that kind of shit[quote\] i think people can decide for them selves on what to watch and what not, as for if Tarantino has intended it that way which i already thougt he did than, well let's say he has created it lol niot that i dig it but i a way i can.

Me kinda interested in the Asian version not that i will d/l it by the wat lol

Yup. At least they were good enough to remove the Thai one when they found out. This one is definitely the Jap one.

Tarantino's handling of this movie has really pissed me off! i'm sure it woulda got thru the bbfc uncut also the splitting into 2 movies kinda pissed me off big time! too much for one sitting indeed!!!

I wouldn't want to sit through a 4 hour movie in a cinema with no breaks, a 2 hour movie is bad enough even in Warner Village's relatively comfy seats. Why are so many movies these days so long? Shaun of the Dead was a nice 100mins, just right.

Splitting Kill Bill was preferable for me rather than editing it down to one shorter movie.

I still reckon the BBFC might have passed KB uncut though, at least for the cinema.

you can tell parts of the movie is just pure bloat to make up a two movie runtime.

It would have been more like 3hrs give or take.

Part two is a great movie in its own right, but both films are missing something, and they are found in the other parts ;)

unfortunately that is what i feared from the moment i heard it was to be split into 2 films :( there was only one reason he did that and it goes something like this:
boy it's been a while since i churned something out, bit broke too. hmm how can i make enuf from one film will keep me in shit for the next x years till i can be bothered again?... i know lets make a few filler scenes, tell em is too much violence etc 4 one movie so have 2 give it 2 em in 2 installments. that gives me twice the box office revenue then in a coupla years can put out teh directors super special cut so they see it as i really intended and i get 3 times as much dosh for jus teh one film

btw i do actually really enjoy his stuff.

Too true. I saw part 2 and it's a great movie, lacking in action but full of character development. Part 1 is the other way round so he could've easily condensed it into 1 movie.
