Hello,my name is Kareltje538

I'm a SKVCD-releaser for http://www.svcdplaza.com (mod it if I'm not allowed to put a link here).I'm part of Team SvcdPlaza.
(duhh...check my sig)

I'm sure you all heard of skvcd?
If not => in English please visit http://www.kvcd.net/portal/index.php

and for you Dutch folks over here (I know you're out there somewhere  ) ga naar http://www.weethet.nl/dutch/video_kvcd_intro.php

Anyway,I'd thought I'd ask you all if there is any need for releasing my (horror)-releases over here.

What I do is make a 1 cd/version of the movie with their Dutch subs included (solid subs, not selectable).

Then you can play them on your stand-alone dvd-player (if supported !!!) just like a dvd.
But not with dvd-quality of course, because that couldn?t be possible on a normal CD-ROM.

I especially make horror-skvcd's and as long as there are any flicks left to convert (and of course their subtitles are available !) I will make them.

And of course not just the brand new ones....I'm working on the Hellraiser-series right now (parts 1 - 6). :suicide:

But the question remains - are you interested in those releases?

Plz let me know (for it doesn?t matter if I post my release on an extra site if it?s welcome)

Greetz,

Kareltje538

If you ask me: Not at all. First I don't like SVCDs (with or without K), second I hate hard subst. Would not bother to download. But this is only my opinion.

depends on the film, if its an rarity, and there's no way to get a source without hard subs, I'm not too fussy; everything else I won't download personally. That's not to say people won't want them of course. I would voice similar concerns to wargand, forced/hard subs are the worst way to go, can't you have softsubs in xvVCDs in anyway? Secondly, I have the capability of playing mpeg4 so don't bother with MPEG2 beyond dvds, unless as said, the no choice factor comes into play :)

However, there'd be no point in me getting movies like the hellraisers in that format, I have them in mpeg4 and will have the first 3 on DVD so wouldn't want to downgrade :) Same goes for anything widely available in more preferable formats (DVD/DVDr/mpeg4)

If you get some rarity though, I'd be game, as long as its rare and not available in any other format. I'd only go for something hardsubbed when it lacked total availability, like many of kofs and a few of STR releases (which have dutch/turkish/whatever subs) and the only ones available had the subs encoded.

However, if you have the source without subs, and are super imposing them into the video, then no its not my personal preference, I'd prefer the original :)

I don't know about other people though :beerchug:

Unless its mpeg4, and then you can sometimes get very close (of course re-encoding is a lossy procedure, but I've had some great 1cd rips in the past with a clean source)

I agree with Spud. If the movie is rare enough you should give it it's own thread. However, since I'm sure there'd be some people interested you could consider doing some type of collection I guess.

As long as there are a few people who are interested I don't think
it's any use for posting them here.

But that's whats asking for....

The ones who are interested : visit us I would say.

BTW : the avi's which aren't on svcdplaza I usually get from over her

That's why I registered here.
