Go watch the very nice trailer....

Maybe I was a bit quick to stomp this in its face...

Very gigerish... incuding the Aliens vs marines approach - ( Dang that was Cameron's input not was it ? :wacky: )

So is this a videogame adaptation ? :?

And what trashcan did they dug up slater from ?

That's not Gigerish, that's a cheap, pathetic knock off of his art. It has none of the athetic impact and its just ugly and poorly made (photoshop layers anyone?). The site is nicely designed, but its lack of content fills me with no confidence, nor do the production stills.

The director fills me with even less confidence, Arse Boil, creator of perhaps the worst film I've seen in a long time if not ever, House of the Dead.

Gigers work is only effective if people know how to use it. IMO Species failed to use it effectively, and this project fills me with even less confidence, and that was some real nice art work. Here there's nothing, weak artwork, CGI relic-come-Reign of fire, and Arse Boil has shown no attempt at being able to handle any action scenes (you've seen House of the Dead right? That's not action, that's just sad). If I were Giger I'd sue, not because of any need for money, because you just can't let people go round and fuck up your art work for a weak project like this. Its just unoriginal and insulting.

As for the trailer, looks Bad with a captial B imo:

I really had no hope for this from the start, but once I saw Toilet Boll's name in the credits, I knew it had 0 chance of being watchable.

Hard Rain was a decent enough average blockbuster movie imo, what's cack about it? :o

Its a tad more original than the rest of those type of films. I'd put it on the list with Lethal Weapon, The Negotiator, etc. of films that don't suck.

Alone in the Dark sounds nice, but when I saw the trailer I just thought : WTF ????

Yet another stupid videogame adapted to the big screen (although resident Evil had some nice twists in it).

Bring in a couple of names (Slater & Reid) and Hollywood thinks they've got a hit (well, maybe they do,but I can't hardly imagine).

Speaking of Arquette.....has anybody seen her new TV-show
already (Medium) ?

I dl'ed all 5 episodes there are untill now and I have to say it's quite entertaining...

maybe i was a little harsh but imo it is a disposable movie, i saw it on tv but never been inclined to d/l it. you watch it once and i suppose at least you dont feel like you've been robbed of an hour and a half. but there's just too many of those 'blockbuster' thriller/action movies already. same as lethal weapon, saw the first 3 at the cinema on release but not even caught them when they been on tv. let alone rent or buy them.

Great article, written by a script writer who once collaberated with Boll.

Some great quotes:

Quote:
Who in their right mind would give him money to make anything except possibly trips from a pizza delivery store?

and

Quote:
I think Uwe secretly lusts after Euro B-movie maker Paul Verhoven's lucrative career, which is really kind of sad if you think about it.

and

Quote:
this was the first movie I've ever seen featuring gratuitous tit-shots during a scene where a retarded girl is raped.........Unfortunately, this powerful movie failed find an American distributor, and I don't foresee this changing unless the retard rape market suddenly picks up.
