Normally use trillian, but its a bit of a fat bitch in terms of requirements. Since my hdd crashed and the last format, I've been using shitty msn.

Anyways, just wondering if there's any multinetwork client that can run two msn accounts simultaneously and that isn't as gay as msn.

You can patch MSN I think. As for other clients, dunno, Trillian was cool but I stopped using it simply because the MSN does not support the webcam, only video conference which is piss poor quality.

I tried all the clients ppl suggested, but hated them all for various reasons. Can't even remember what ones they were LOL

MSN is awful, what a piece of shit program. Just want to clear it up, I don't care how bad an alternative is, it can't possible be as bad as msn's official attempt at a client.

What exactly do you dislike so much spud? I am not a huge fan, but it is stable for me and does what I need it to.

I only use it to chat to a few ppl and do a bit of audio/video conferencing. The main thing that puts me off non-msn clients is the fact no-one I know uses them, but that was not your question.

If you do find a suitable replacement lemme know yeah? If some msn compatable client turns up that can do the audio/visual components then I would be interested. I am doubtfull as the last time I checked none of them supported the webcam feature, just conference, but that is lower quality. Sometimes I need hi qhality one to one.

drops connections, drops messages, bloated with useless crap, looks ugly, no control over naming contacts, pathetic segragation into groups... its just generally shit. They add all sorts of useless shit and they haven't even got basic functionality right

I'm not looking for non-msn clients, I'm looking for a GOOD msn client! It needs to be able to run two msn accounts at once.

The only reason I use msn is because its popular, aim was a lot more stable, but no one uses that anymore.

The reason all that bloat isn't in other clients, is because a) its bloat b) msn keeps changing their network source and making the entire network instable

Only had probs with MSN when the Service goes offline. MSN Plus is a nice little add-on that can do some extra shit such as re-naming contacts etc.

I rank it as the worst program, below trillian, amsn, miranda, etc.

http://www.msgplus.net/news.php adds alittl emore fuctionality, plus more plug-ins can be added.

What version are you using Spud? I am using the newest beta 7 and it has not crashed in weeks now, and 20 meg is not too bad for memory usage, no other clients used much less, Trillian used more for me. 5 meg when it is mininised to sys tray is cool too.

I used msgplus before, like I said that ISNT msn.
Trillian uses more memory, which I said, but it isn't as shitty.

Once again, I need to run two seperate msn accounts at once, I don't want to use that piece of shit official client on the network.

In the absense of a sane alternative, looks like I'm going to have to use trillian. At least it isn't some totally bloated piece of shit programming, even though its far from ideal.

Trillian has always been buggy, but it is gradually getting better. Just seems to take so damn long for the improvements to get into the client.

well its just that damn has-it-crashed? start up splash screen.

I really just need something lightweight, that allows me to run multiple msn accounts (this is purely because its most popular), rename contacts so I don't have to sit looking at their smeg awful screennames, have some options dealing with categories of nonce filtering and then a RSS feed and then I'm set.

I don't need some webcam/sexchat/voicechat rubbish, I can see why that would be useful to someone at work or something, but I can't say I find it in the slightest bit useful.

Same goes for the whiteboard, but its quite amusing drawing some crappy collaborative picture... when it works

I'd make my own errr. if i knew how (or rather had the time to learn the protocols).
