I have no problem with CGI, I have a problem with the use of CGI. If you've got a director you can trust then there's no real problem.... do you trust George Romero with CGI?

Test of faith time Chaotic

I've actually seen some really nice CGI usage in the past for gore.... especially using greenscreen padding on the face, and then removing it (ie. hole in the head). But the crimes have been well... Exorcist IV, nuff said :o

lol, this is where it turns out that he's a projectionist and turned Finding Nemo off for the kids.

"no sorry, its for your own good... they used cgi. Stop crying!"

If I had my way the 4th Dead installment would be Dusk of the Dead; Night, Dawn, Day, Dusk. It would all fit together so well as a definitive package, ya dig? .

Tell me to shut up cos you must already know this but Romero has been talking about making this for years, with the title Twilight of the Dead.

That was kind of an adopted name. Everyone knew he wanted to make it eventually, but no one would fund it, let alone George naming it.

He hasn't been making for years, but definitely has wanted to make it for years.

Just took another scout through imdb, looks like he's been hiring people from the biz, Asia Argento, Dennis Hopper, Simon Pegg, Tom Savini... we need Bruce Campbell with a chainsaw! :) Just be glad they're filming! Hooray! I got a fangoria from 1988 where its talking about George Romero's absense for a while, and that they're rumours of the fourth Living Dead  Nearly laughed my ass off when I re-read that.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before, but Universal will be releasing this one unrated - so expect a shitload of gore, and no interference by censorship boards. :)

I'm sure someone had posted these, but since they don't appear to be in this thread:

Production stills :) Lets hope the print isn't too clean. Something about the other dead films that a dirty print makes them seem more... i dunno. Maybe that Dawn of the Rehash just pissed me off

The first 14 mins review from Cannes! (Found on a website)

"Seeing the first 14 minutes of the film was extremely reassuring.
Romero?s vision has not been compromised at all by a large studio
and a much larger budget. His flat, comic book like approach to film
is dominant, as always. Land of the Dead is stylistically very similar,
if not identical to the Dead Trilogy and will be a welcome edition to
his previous masterpieces.

The film?s violence, as usual, is creative and cartoon-like. Fans of the
ultra violent zombie films Romero made in the past will be more than
satisfied with this new film. There will no doubt be plenty of weapons
to go around and plenty of zombies to annihilate."

I was able to catch an advance screening with friends last night, and maybe it was just the mood we were in, but we had a blast. It took me a few minutes to get the direction George was going with this one, but once I did, it cranked on almost every cylinder.

The first thing to note is this is not a serious, somber, scare you out of your pants zombie movie. What it actually plays out as instead is a social commentary on class, politics, and stereo types, while having a good time doing it. Think more Evil Dead meets Mad Max meets Night of the Living Dead, and you'll get a clearer picture of the movie George has made here.

Yes, it is very violent, and yes, there are plenty of "feedings." Highly recommended for those whose take zombie movies as seriously as they should.
