Quote:
The exquisitely beautiful Catherine Deneuve plays Miriam, a centuries-old vampire capable of bestowing the gift of immortality on her lovers namely her current partner John (David Bowie). To sustain their sanguinary requirements, the pair cruises New York nightclubs in search of victims (as illustrated in a stunning opening sequence to the accompaniment of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" performed by seminal Goth band Bauhaus). When John awakens one morning to discover telltale signs of aging, it is revealed that his own sustained youth is not permanent, and his physical decrepitude begins to increase at an incredible rate. In a panic, John visits the clinic of scientist Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon), who has recently published a book on reversing the aging process, but she initially dismisses him as a crank, leaving him to sit in the lobby for several hours... during which his body ages several decades. After learning of his condition, Sarah traces John to his uptown flat. John is nowhere to be found, having been consigned by Miriam to a box in the attic with her legions of undead loves, leaving Miriam to deal with Sarah which she does quite effectively, seducing her into a steamy lesbian tryst. Their passion is consummated by a mingling of Miriam's blood with Sarah's, which later manifests itself as a psychic link between the two women and leaves Sarah with a rapidly-increasing appetite for blood. Cavett Binion

If anyone gets this done, and has previously downloaded D_Vs DVB rip, could you post some compare screens?
http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic. ... ght=hunger

Or perhaps choose a keyframe so I can take a picture for comparison that I'll post?

This one is from a DVD so is probably the better of course :)

(thx for posting :) )

Yeah, I had the feeling something was seriously wrong with the MBCD rip - the picture was extremely soft and those yellowish colours... To be honest, I thought this was part of the artistic vision of the makers, but found it very annoying. Good to know this one doesn't actually look like this...

@ poly, it was a tv rip.. Colours are normally pretty far off and the image is too soft because of it ;)

Quote:
Director Tony Scott's cult classic tells the story of Miriam (Catherine Denueve) and John (David Bowie), an elegant couple with a dark secret: they are vampires. Feeding on human blood, Miriam has lived for over 2000 years. Taking John as her lover, she gave him the gift of eternal life as well. Together, the beautiful Miriam and dapper John teach music by day and feed on innocent humans by night, disposing of their remains in the incinerator of their well-appointed townhouse. When John begins aging rapidly, he seeks the help of Dr. Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon), a specialist in premature aging. Miriam is immediately drawn to Sarah, desiring her as her next immortal companion. Sarah, unable to deny her attraction to Miriam, ends up in her bed and is consequently forced to choose between her mortal life and eternal life. Deneuve is remarkable as the beautiful but anguished Miriam, and Bowie is astonishing as he ages hundreds of years in a matter of hours, all of the seconds that he has lived catching up with him at once. Watch for Ann Magnuson in her film debut, and Willem Dafoe in his first credited speaking role
