Sat and watched this and TBO this is a case of the trailer being better than the film itself.

Anyway enjoy :beerchug:

Isn't that the case with most of these new 'horror' flicks too? :P

At least the cover is nice, they don't make 'em like that anymore. Thanks for the rip.

Don't bother with this movie. All the good scenes come from Mountain of the Cannibal God, Jungle Holocaust and one other cannibal movie which I can't identify. As far as I can tell, there is ONE original scene in Eaten Alive.

Hmmf, this is probably my favorite cannibal movie, or at least in my top 3, and I've seen quite a few of them of the genre! I definitely like it better than Lenzi's other film "Cannibal Ferox" (which isn't too bad either!)

I will admit though that I may be a bit biased by the fact that this is one of the first cannibal films I ever saw as a teenager in the 80's.

A few scenes were stolen from other films, but mostly animal-killing scenes which I don't like to watch anyway and I always skip over those. Other than that there was a castration scene and I believe maybe a rape scene taken from "Mountain".

Plenty of original scenes here though... One of the things I liked in this one was it's one of the few I've seen where the cannibals actually ate someone alive... in most movies they usually they kill their victims first (sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly) and then eat them, but this one always stands out in my mind for the really nasty scene at the end where women have body parts cut off of them and eaten while they are alive and screaming!  I remember the first time watching it and thinking the women could still be saved even though one of them had a breast and a foot lopped off and eaten.

Another interesting element to this movie was an incredibly sleazy and tasteless reference to the Jim Jones cult suicides which had only happened a couple of years before.

The film also stars genre favorites Robert Kernan and Me Me Lai, and features lots of great nudity as well, which is always a good thing, and an excellent score by Budy Manglione who also did the music for Ferox a couple of years later! The music for both movies is actually very similar... Both have great groovy opening themes played over a NYC backdrop but I like Eaten Alive's opening just a bit better.

Well according to the dvd cover it is the uncut version and is
"Newly Remastered (2001) from original negatives."
even tho this is still 2 min short of IMDB runtime I think it's about as uncut as it gets.

Depends......did it say film when or NTSC when you used your DGindex?...Also did it say interlaced or progressive? That is the important part....If it said ntsc and interlaced throughout your preview or encode with that then you didn't do anything wrong. If you got a film or progressive frames then you might consider it.
Hope that clears it up a bit.
Even if you did fuck up don't kick yourself in the ass to much...This sort of thing happens all the time and even happens to the best of us. :beerchug: Thanks ofr a decent cut of this by the way....I grabbed one version thinking it was this one and it turned out not..Glad you cleared it all up :D

QiX nfo says 'DVD release : 5 June, 2000' and 'The source dvd was a real devil, ugly as hell... lots of snow and artifacts, due to the age, the low budget of the film,... so i had to clean it up a little bit, therefor it became a little bit blurred sorry for that...'

So your rip could be better quality. However I'll stick to QiX since yours is not IVTC-ed

That was it exactly
NTSC source
Interlaced with artifacts
So i didnt force film but did deinterlace
At least it's not nuked but would explain the runtime

Bollocks. I always ivtc anything that's 29.970 FPS. Sounds like I should identify and nuke 'em, but I won't be doing.

Best I clarify myself, that was an expletive as in oh, bollocks. Not as in you're talking bollocks
