Charlton Heston is seemingly the last healthy man on the planet--everyone else is either dead or one of the pack of night-dwelling zombies. Remake of a far-inferior Vincent Price flick, "The Omega Man" really caught me off guard with it's serious scenario: Heston in a movie theater, watching "Woodstock" for the 100th time; fending off killers in his apartment, where his only friend is a statue; saving a young kid from certain death. Anthony Zerbe is positively commanding as the leader of the undead, Rosalyn Cash very fine as an interesting lover for Heston. Some of the dialogue is silly(a little girl asking post-Moses Heston if he's God...c'mon!), but the picture doesn't cop-out, leading to a very thoughtful, sad finish
