Carpenters my favorite, so I figured I'd do the mercy killing, rather than someone who doesn't appreiate his works. :beerchug:

Cronenberg has better films more often and still makes better films. Romero's latest attempts have been weak, and argento I almost thought was dead, as is his current level of film making

have you seen Cronenbergs' Spiders Spud? I'll take Romeros' Season of the Witch over that!! :beerchug:

You mean Spider? Yes, it was a very well made morbid drama and a look at schizophina which was deeply memorable. Its not a horror film, one of Cronenberg's few non-horror movies actually. Its visually quite profound and the story doesn't treat you like an idiot as is customary these days.

Comparison to Season of the Witch is way to ludicrous for me, even though i understand Spider might not be everyone's cup of tea, its completely different film. Compare Seasons of the Witch to an earlier low budget Cronenberg, and I'd take shivers, the brood or rabid.

As far as I see their careers, Cronenberg's films have been of a extremely high standard since Shivers (I'm not familiar with his earlier movies), Romero's career is all over the place, ranging from really crap to genre defining. Argento's is even more all over the place, but I don't recall seeing a good Argento for a long time, imo obviously.

Here's the list of director's credits, cronenbergs even done more, even if you remove all the tv movies/series.

Cronenberg:
# A History of Violence (2005)

# 4 mosche di velluto grigio (1971)

Right. Anyway, I'll keep my reply under dime-novel size, and just vote.....oh, and comment that Crash was one of the biggest pieces of shit I ever forced myself to watch in my life :beerchug:
