beacause if you note, they are both paramount versions and they have the master. They are both cut by paramount by 8-9 mins, and then further by the MPAA (although they don't list the mpaa cuts on that page)

That page can only list cuts made by official bodies however (as without the workprint/master they can not verify it's cut), and not by the studio themselves. If you look around the internet, they all state that no uncut version has ever been released by paramount
In total it was censored first by paramount, then by the MPAA and if it's an English release it was further censored by the BBFC. it has been well and trulely raped and it isn't even a bad film
There are uncut version on VHS and I heard bootleg dvd, but i dunno if that's true. Those are not by paramount.

They consider it "uncut" because it has been released at the cinema cut

Here at Rewind we judge a DVD release's cut status based upon the THEATRICAL VERSION in the original country of release.
Should an DVD be released that contains additional footage (for an example a Director's Cut or a TV Version) from this release then this will be noted in the comparison, however the original version is still UNCUT. For an examples of this, please see "Scream" or "Halloween".
When adding a Censorship correction to the forum, please ensure that you either own the disc or have substantial evidence (such as a link to a reliable source) to back up the cuts claim. |
Therefore, as paramount butchered their release on cinema in the US, they regard it as uncut even though it is not.
