the only copy of this i managed 2 get on the donkey network turned out 2 B french dubbed :(
have been looking for this for a while and finally saw it in my local store at a reasonable price which i can grab 2mo if needed and rip over the weekend?
but beware i believe this is cut, part explanation here: http://us.imdb.com/AlternateVersions?0082782 I read somewhere that it has something to do with Paramount not wanting to be associated with extreme gore & violence (I could be talking complete bolloks though)

Yeah I have it on dvd now and hope to have results b4 the end of the weekend.
have no idea about the completeness of an old vhs as the info for the film on imdb changed recently as they used to have a lot of info about 4 diff versions but all it says now is that one version is in existance (r rated - though the dvd has a cert of 15 here (then again so did contamination) and list cuts. the running time of the dvd is about 87 mins i think but not at home now so cant check until later.

it's cut, all DVD releases by paramount are cut by a couple of minutes I think, so unless you got like the region quadbillion release that paramount didn't do it will be cut, paramount are those liberal-do-gooding prats that will release the cut versions everytime... they didn't even bother resubmitting to the censors here :( The BBFC though has cut even more of it...

edit: it's even worse than I thought:

Some 8-9 minutes are reportedly missing from the film, so you can just imagine how extensive Paramount's scissor-work was to this film.

Jesus christ that's a lot of movie :o

That said I'd probably still download

beacause if you note, they are both paramount versions and they have the master. They are both cut by paramount by 8-9 mins, and then further by the MPAA (although they don't list the mpaa cuts on that page) :( That page can only list cuts made by official bodies however (as without the workprint/master they can not verify it's cut), and not by the studio themselves. If you look around the internet, they all state that no uncut version has ever been released by paramount :(

In total it was censored first by paramount, then by the MPAA and if it's an English release it was further censored by the BBFC. it has been well and trulely raped and it isn't even a bad film :(

There are uncut version on VHS and I heard bootleg dvd, but i dunno if that's true. Those are not by paramount.

edit:
http://www.therewindforums.co.uk/forums ... php?t=2080

They consider it "uncut" because it has been released at the cinema cut ;)
Quote:
Here at Rewind we judge a DVD release's cut status based upon the THEATRICAL VERSION in the original country of release.

Should an DVD be released that contains additional footage (for an example a Director's Cut or a TV Version) from this release then this will be noted in the comparison, however the original version is still UNCUT. For an examples of this, please see "Scream" or "Halloween".

When adding a Censorship correction to the forum, please ensure that you either own the disc or have substantial evidence (such as a link to a reliable source) to back up the cuts claim.

Therefore, as paramount butchered their release on cinema in the US, they regard it as uncut even though it is not. :)
