i'd already checked cdcovers, like a lot of covers the quality is utterly terrible, and the first post wasn't the right game. Sid's pirates is the one i'm after, disc and cover

I'll try the rar pack.

Got GTA: SA (dunno why, xbox version sucks), Destory All Humans (hehe), pirates! and Fifa street soccer. Can't find any covers for pirates! though.

Any game recommendations again?

I seem to have trouble ftping back to my xbox. I thought i'd update the media center, but its not responding on the ip i was on last, and not only that on the replacement dash, in settings there's no network option anymore.

Has the Xbox IP changed?

That happened to me when I was first softmodding my Xbox, you can change it or find out what it's changed to in Media Center and also on the other Dash included in PCArcade's zip file.

There is no network option on my xbox when i boot it without the cable connected. Reboot with cable inserted already, also make sure it's crossover (not meant to be an insult

seems to happen).

seems the softmodding set it to some stupid ip outside of the range of my network, i put it back to wat it was and it worked.

Thx flibble, didn't think of looking in media center for the option.
thx d. too, actually i had that problem when i first tried ftping, seems the wire didn't 'click' in, but i aint changed it since.

Exactly the same as what happened when I softmodded, took me ages to work out what happened with PCArcade's help.

strange thing, i can only ftp when i load up media center, the dash doesn't have the network option nor does it allow me to ftp in. is it supposed to do that? I take it there's some file i need to change somewhere.

Anyway, i updated to the latest Media Center, much, much better. Also took the liberty to add some network paths to the select menu and remove all the xbox drives.

which dash?

THC dash dosn't allow you to FTP, the package I did allows you to load a 2nd dash which allows LOTS more control by holding both triggers and pressing Y

OR you could swap dashes, the default dash is e:\dashboards\default.xbe

aha, the second one, seems the ips are all out of whack and set differently for all the different programs, the stupid thing had set it to 192.168.0.100 on the main dash:matrix:

me again, this is regarding xbox live... its subscription based right? I always thought it was but all the stuff about downloads and updates makes me wonder if only certain parts of it are... and secondly, since i've modded going on xbox live would be bad right?

I've read the whole thread and now and I must mention two things:

1- I joined the forum because of the guide :mrgreen:

2- I bought an xbox... because of the guide :mrgreen:

Im getting ready to perform the softmodding operation (buying an extra breakaway cable and a memory card for xbox). I got Mechassault sitting there now.
However, I've ran into the first problem. No sources for any of the saves!!! :argue:

I've had Ltools1.8.MA.zip -> ed2k: Ltools1.8.MA.zip [4.74 Mb] [Stats]
for 2 days, and so far not a single source.
Also, the Softmod addons have no sources (sometimes one source shows up, but im queue at 9000+ and then source dissapears).

Doing a search, I found a file with more sources: ltools_MA_v1.8.rc1.zip -> ed2k: ltools_MA_v1.8.rc1.zip [4.67 Mb] [Stats]
is this a valid save?

All im looking to do it to play backups and playback divx/xvid/mp3 that I burn on DVD-R/CD-R discs.

help?

I'm resharing the MA save and the softmod pack on release. I wouldn't use another save if i were you.
Check http://www.xbox-scene.com for a guide on almost everything.
