i was just browsing tomshardware.com and came across a review called "i see dead people: zombie apocalypse and its basically short reviews of some upcoming zombie games
Dead Rising - this looks very excellent from teh screenshot
Infected
City of The Dead - we already knew about this one (gotta love the co-op multiplayer thats promised)
Stubbs The Zombie - This one sounds very different and very interesting
House of The Dead 4 - More of The Usual, only slightly prettier
Evil Dead Regeneration - Need I Say More?
Possession - A Zombie RTS Game, so there is a god, now all we need is someone to listen to my pleas of a GTA meets resident evil style zombie game involving you as a survivor in a city/county/state whatever and be free roaming (gta style) where you can do lots of different things you choose to do while also trying to stop or escape the zombie hordes,, i mean just imagine it, one town gets overrun so u have to grab a weapon and a vehicle and head for another town in teh hope its safe but have to drive/fly/ride etc your way there and the danger is all around you

@infected, psp? who cares
@stubbs, i don't think its that interesting, infact i think its unfortunate...

That will probably suck if that's the case.
@evil dead isn't a zombie film, so its unlikely the game will be a zombie game
Nice find though

due to the increase in body count they classed it as one, but yes i know the films arent zombie films, but if i hadnt included it people who visited the site would then complain "why didnt you include evil dead like they did" because u cant please everyone

well i got a fistful of boomstick and they aren't zombies in that either, so its safe to say they won't be in this one. Not that that makes it any less appealing or anything, i just thought it was the same old common mistake none horror people make
Apart from Possession, i think dead-donkey got the scoop on all of those in this forum. Possession sounds like the nicest surprise out of them.

oh and on the gta thing, why not ask for a mod on GTA:SA? Someone already started a mod for it on RE.
There's are lots of ace things you can do with that engine, unfortunately its very hard for the uninitiated to pick up and learn someone elses engine/mod tools/ etc.

i never got the chance to play fistful of boomstick unfortunately but if it was like the first evil dead game thq did it wouldve sucked big time
i like the idea of a zombie based rts too, should be good fun if done properly, although im worried by the fact its meant to be on xbox360 and ps3 as rts on console dont really work
spud, lobby rockstar with me to co-operate with capcom to get my idea of gta:re off the ground please
*edit* i didnt know someone had started an RE mod fro gta sa, incidently i played that on pc for about 2 days then uninstalled it, its no vc to me

fistful was okay at first i gues, just really samey so you don't bother playing anymore. Environments are bland and the 'missions' aren't really very thought out.
Yeah, rockstar is really going to be receptive to modding about now. GTA: SA is way better than VC, the city is better, the gang wars are better. Sure there's black gangster people in it, but whoopy fuckin do, just download a saved game file with 100% complete, although the missions are way better than VC. Quite frankly, i didn't think VCs missions were very good anyway, and whilst the music was better big deal, custom radio was all i listened to anyway, and the gang wars totally own.

i just didnt feel pulled into teh game like i did with vice city, and why do you keep assuming i dont like it coz its black gangsters in it? yes i hate and despise rap, hip hop but that doesnt mean ive signed up to the KKK
sa had a few nice new features but overall i just felt more part of it in vice city, whether thats because i felt more able to identify with tommy vercetti because hes white i dont know, maybe maybe not, or maybe my love of everything 80s and non love for everything 90s jaded my view who knows, but for me VC was more fun

Sorry then, i thought u'd made it clear it was the rapping gangsters in it rather than anything substantially bad in the game, given the game engine is just a modified and improved VC engine. If that's not the case, that's all i heard last time you mentioned the game. As far as the whole radicially different feel/story, i don't buy it... VC storyline was crap, just as flawed as the current one, i don't see how it can 'pull you in' anymore than GTA:SA does, i don't buy the identify with the lead character thing, i don't think that's necessary to enjoy a game, neither do i think the 90s/80s thing is in the least bit important, maybe slightly to the storyline but as i've covered its pretty shit in all the gta games so its really small pickings. The real brunt of the matter is where the gameplay has improved and that's across the board imo. imo. the new features aren't just smalltime, the terrority take over is the most significant and i don't think they'll be able to do another GTA sequel without putting it in given that its the most fun thing in the entire franchise.
imo... its not a small improvement, its a far better game engine and a better game than VC ever was, I can't warp my opinion towards VC, even if i don't like the radio stations i don't even listen to one bit. That's about the only thing VC has over it, and even then... its not brilliant music that i listen to anyway.
That's my 2cents on the whole matter.

As factually incorrect as it is calling Evil Dead a zombie game, since its mentioned in this thread i'd thought i'ld link to a release:
http://www.torrentspy.com/directory.asp ... &id=411996
Unconfirmed but there's releases out for this game on the xbox, so i don't think its fake.
