I was asked to to join GORiE and this was going to be my first rip for them, but I have to stop emule (consequently my emule downloads) to upload to GORiE's FTP to get a decent upload speed so decided against it.

This is also my first rip using GK and not AutoGK.

It is listed on IMDB as horror, but if you feel it's not horror enough then feel free to move it to the non-horror forum.

Whoah. How many were asked to join GORiE? Myself and Ferox had joined also but i have a heck of a time getting onto the FTP.

I had problems with the FTP aswell.

I just couldn't be arsed uploading to FTP then releasing, when I can just stick straight in my shares and spread it just as quick.

Whilst its only a small issue, i thought i'd mention it, the top border is undercropped. I've found gknot doesn't quite crop right and you sometimes need to overcrop by a pixel more than autocropping suggests... its sometimes better to do it manually infact, if you see even the slightest bit of black, then you need to crop a bit more.

I learnt that the hard way... normally occurs on the right border for me and often leads to me having to rerip. Seriously annoying.

Either that or you've taken the screenshots by cutting and pasting, but i thought i'd spread the tip anyway

There is no Special One Mr Flibble, we are a group of 14 rippers so far and we're looking for the l33t horror rippers to join us, so there are some SPECIAL ONES, but not a Special ONE. =) By the way, the FTP will be moved to a faster server next week, instead of 10MBit, it will be 100MBit. :beerchug:

Just checked Spud and the top border is on the movie, not the way I took the screens. Bollocks! I thought I'd got my first GK rip spot on, will remember to over crop next time.

I ripped & encoded the movie 3 times. I used AutoGK first and the frame rate stayed at 29fps, then GK and I forgot to crop the movie completely and then this rip.

Another word of warning with this, although its probably correct, the force 29fps, is only if there's FILM > 95% or when you manually inspect the movie in the preview window, advance a frame at a time, its should be mostly progressive with 2 interlaced frames every 5 frames (or another such pattern).

I know you know that, but there are circumstances for 29fps of course. I hate to seem like a crusader on the matter since i feel i always come off that way :lol:

?Sixteen Tongues? is not a movie to be dashed off at a party. McCrae pulls very few punches here, either with the sex or the violence. Nudity is rampant, the images are often quite shocking. But if you?re looking for a movie with a bit of meat on its bones, it requires multiple viewings to truly ?get? what McCrae is trying to do with the narrative, and ultimately, the result is very satisfying.

The production design is quite brilliant, particularly when you take the production?s low-budget roots into consideration. Occasionally, the seams show through, but the ?Blade Runner?-esque layering of details goes a long way to hiding those seams.

The performances are all top-notch, though this is primarily a three-person cast, so it?s nearly impossible to single any one actor out over the others. Look fast, too, for cameos by Tina Krause and McCrae?s ?Shatter Dead? star, Stark Raven. ?Sixteen Tongues? also boasts the cleanest video image in recent memory, which really shows off McCrae?s photography. If there are any technical complaints, the sound track seems to have been mixed a bit ?soft?, which requires a cranking of the sound system (not a problem for most viewers).

If i knew more dude i'd let ya know. I'm not even sure if there's a place for us to meet or who the members are. Plus i can't ever seem to connect to the ftp to see what's there since the first day I joined(hopefully the new ftp works out better unless i got a connection wrong

). Lot of stuff to figure out and work out i guess

Will wait and see what happens.

I basically joined as being a torrent uploader for them. I've always been skeptical to join any group as i don't feel i do my part as a ripper. Anything i've done has been a dvd i downloaded off midnight movies and encoded to xvid. Well except for "K9-PI" but i won't get into that on a horror board :oops:

I just feel most groups prefer guys who have a huge dvd collection or who pick up stuff regularly to keep the group going. All the members in Pimps rip stuff on a regular basis as i would just be an uploader mainly and i never think that's enough to be in a group

Ha ha. Yeah i remember that. Cool dude. I'd be glad to upload any pimp rips from now on. You guys are class and have loved the releases you do. I try and keep up with pimps, grim, flibble, phibes etc but my shit up connection prevents me from doing them all.

But I'm getting grief again on T3 for getting guys hits on there releases. Dead Life i got shit on and now Infects rip of Rise of the Undead. Maybe i'm too drunk now but fuck that pisses me off when guys complain about why so many people are downloading something :matrix:
