Just found out about this new Italian thriller:

Eyes of Crystal / Occhi di cristallo (2004)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0382205/
Plot Outline: Inspector Amaldi is eager to hunt down a sophisticated and ferocious psychopath, whose exquisite murders seem to resemble an occult master plan for alchemistic transformations. But apparently the killer is connected with Amaldi's early life.

Several reviews are already touting it as the return of the Giallo!

Make sure you check out the trailer on the official homepage:

The trailer looks damn fine to me and judging from it the director Eros Puglielli definitely has studied his Giallo masters: Knives, killers with black leather gloves, lots of good-looking female victims and excellent atmospheric and colourful cinematography.

Can't wait to see this one, especially since Argento's recent "The Card Player" wasn't much of a giallo...

Looks interesting to me.

ed2k: Eyes.of.Crystal.(Occhi.Di.Cristallo).[2004].ITA.DivX.DVDRip.DeLuXe.avi  [701.15 Mb] [Stats]

ed2k: Occhi%20Di%20Cristallo.avi  [701.22 Mb] [Stats]

ed2k: Occhi%20di%20Cristallo.avi  [2.03 Gb] [Stats]

Seems to be well spread. Lots of choices apparently. Couldn't find any subtitles, though.
Let's check it out.

I've known about this movie for a while, but still haven't found any English subtitles for it. Probably because there's only an Italian DVD release. Hopefully some company picks it up and released it as an English subtitled DVD. Or maybe we need to get some Italian member of these boards to make fan subtitles :)

Okay, I found a DVD cover. Its says on the back, that the languages include English, as do the subtitles. The first posted link looks to be the most promising, but there are many more apparently. probably some are fake and/or just plain bad. Sketchy file sizes....

See it here:

Hopefully a verified and proper release will be done/found eventually.

Weird. Very very weird.

Looking at the list of audio tracks listed on that cover does make me suspicious... Italian, English, French, Spanish. So many dubs all on one DVD?

This seems to be the "01 Distribution" DVD. I checked several Italian online DVD stores and they all consistantly list the "01 Distribution" DVD with only one audio track (Italian) and only Italian subtitles. E.g.:
http://www.italiadvd.it/shop/dvd.php?e= ... 0cristallo

I also stumbled upon this blog of some guy who bought the DVD, watched the movie without subtitles, without understanding a word and still liked it

Despite being in Italian without any English subtitles, I thoroughly enjoyed Eros Puglielli's Occhi di Cristallo. [...] PS. I believe it gets a UK release later this year, with English subs.

I hope he is right about the UK release :)

Hmmm.... well I've got 50% of this rip now:

ed2k: Eyes.of.Crystal.(Occhi.Di.Cristallo).[2004].ITA.DivX.DVDRip.DeLuXe.avi  [701.15 Mb] [Stats]

Its got about 300 sources, so its going steady. Cant wait to check it out. I need to brush up on my italian anyway. I'm interested to see the 'rivival of giallo'. (remember when people were trumpeting 'Saw' as such!?! )

Watched it at a festival. Very disapointing movie :-( Looked like a TV-Production and the plot was full of holes.. 5/10

yeah it wasn't very good. Though I understood about 20% of what was going on, so I couldn't pick out any plot holes per se. Definitely felt cheap. I'd probably give it another shot if there were subs.
