ABC was my first foray into Bit Torrent and was OK, but when moved to azereus worked out better.
Although lately I can only have 1 file going at a time to get max bandwidth
So I mightre-visit ABC or give bittornado a try!

Its more likely a connection issue, emule operates with a high number of connections so using bit torrent at the same time pushes it over the edge.
That's dependant on how much your downloading at a time with both programs of course, but if its a connection drop issue then its independant of bit torrent client
Although trying ABC, bittornado or bit comet as alternatives is always good to do periodically i've found. I think a lot of it is psychosematic, but you end up switching clients changing phantom speed increases. Been doing that for years now

I just find java programs a little cpu hungry (azureus is java-based right?), but I find every torrent program to be a bit 'hungry', gobbling up any resource (cpu, bandwidth, etc), which in turn is why it downloads fast and consistent when used properly. I really only use BT for MST3k DVDs anyway, cuz once the initial surge of seeders is gone, its usually for good.

Yeah Azereus is JAVA based.
I've only got expereince in ABC and Azereus, and they both were pretty "hungry"
You know what I'm sayin

@Mr.Log, greetings strange one. Have you traveled far to reach our peaceful haven of tranquility?
@everyone, Azureus is the fastest BT client, but just make sure you got alot of spare RAM if you wanna utilise that speed. CPU time for Az whilest downing/seeding 4 DVD images is averaging 5%, memory usage is pretty high but my rig can handle that.
