Anyone know of another emule mod that has a powershare feature other than Morph?

In the last few days Morph has been giving me loads of trouble.

I downloaded Dr.Phibes & Koffkongens last releases and never saw them as a full source, I've not seen many people in my friends list queued for a file that I'm downloading.

It's also been resetting my connection, I've left it on over night and it can't connect to any server & downloaded about 10mb since I went to bed.

I've gone back to normal Emule and all the problems (it seems) have gone, I'm downloading more & faster.

I just need to be able to share out my files more effeciently, which emule doesn't do very well.

Thanks.

Have a look on Emule-project.net fourm at the mods section, you have to be registered though.

But ZZUL and SF-IOM are two that do, Ciccio's Bastard mod is a good one as well.

I have not covered any mods that are not on the "approved" list , but there are shed loads more around.

I'm still using the Pheonix mod. It's stop being developed now I believe, but got to emule 0.45b Pheonix 1.16. Works well though.

As an asdide I tried the latest Morph mod last week and it couldn't find ANY sources at all. Switched straight back to pheonix. Could be me, but I've never had that problem before.

Which version of Morph were you using? All the ones after 6.1 i've found to be very buggy. Was seeing some whacky activity also with them. But 6.1 is excellent. Best version/mod i've tried yet.

Using Morph 6.1 and never had any problems up till now, and it's definatley a Morph problem as normal Emule is working great at the minute.

I have used Neomule in the past but I know some forums had IP Filters that blocked Neomule users. I would stick with normal Emule but it isn't uploading the file I want as much as I want.

Thanks for the suggestions guys I'll check some of them out.

morphXT, i still use 6.1 but they aren't that buggy after version 6.1 he just released two in quick succession because he had a bug in it. After that there's nothing wrong with them, except anyone who tried the version with the bug in thinks they all have the same problem now ;)

Just a quick note to say that I've moved to the iONiX mod and everything seems to be working nicely.

Thanks for the help.

Thought I would defend Morph a little...

MorphXT 7.3 running very stable here for days at a time. I usually do a clean install whenever I change mods to help prevent issues.

your obviously a liar, look what TDL said  :wacky:

It doesn't need defending in reality. Its not worth the effort, just leave em to it, ignorance is bliss. Then again a stream of misinformation isn't helpful for users that haven't tried morphxt so maybe you need to say it anyway.

The only reason i'm on 6.1 is because the source has extra libraries in including the incredibly useless microsoft text to speach SDK, and i can't be arsed downloading such a useless SDK just to compile emule.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but the best rule is: whatever works best for you

So when i tried every version after 6.1 up to 7.1 and had problems with them i'm wrong for stating that :suicide: Powershare feature wouldn't work properly for me. I had trouble getting friendslots to work also among other issues. But as soon as go back to 6.1 everything is good and all is well. Sorry Spud if you find that so amazingly hard to believe. But that was my experience with it.

I don't understand what this incesent need for only your advice to be the right advice. It truly is getting sickening that no matter what somebody elses opinion on something is it's not right unless they agree with you. Why is that? But to say

I mean get off your high horse and quit thinking you know everything about everything and come back down to reality. I've tried every one of them version's and that was my experience with it. If you or Kartsmobile have had good experience with those versions more power to ya. But to say the experience i've had is wrong or should be completely disregarded is ludicrous just because you disagree with it :o

But i'm sure you'll call me ignorant, a liar, another name that makes you feel more superior or you'll come up with some 5000 word response on why my experience with the latest mods is completely utterly false. I mean you already had an definitive answer for that one also.:wacky:

I've had lots of trouble with previous Morph release too. Just gotta hit the right one I guess. If you haven't tried 7.3 give it a shot, best running one for me for a long time...

Thanks Karts. That's a more down to earth response that helps rather than somebody just dogging ya for having a difference of opinion.

Yeah, but did i actually say you were wrong in that first post? :? Did i deny your opinion if you actually read the post? :? Does me not agreeing make you exist any less, or erase your previous post? No i criticised its applicability to everyone and the fact that its buggy reputation, and the statement that they are buggy past 6.1. This reputation, as I said, largely arised from version 6.2-6.6 where a bug was introduced into the client queue and uploading, if you got issues with it too fine, but i've heard people say the same thing all over the shop and mostly it revolves around not updating past the buggy clients Morph released a while back and not bothering to update. As for the bugs that are present, if you check the code changes in the sources, and its documented simply, you'll find they fixed that problem in version 6.7. The rest of the 'bugs' seem to be entirely dependent on what you've got on your pc, what firewall your using and other such conflicts. You can find much of this out by reading through the morphxt forum of course.

Whilst your deflecting everything on me, which is fine, I do state my opinion and criticise what i think is not correct or is infact opinionated, you also seemed unable to take the criticism in the first place and deflected. You make out as though its unusably buggy and that disaster looms in anything past 6.1, which i assure you isn't the case in terms of the software, its your system and the software which is isolated to you. If you have your own problems with it fine, but don't deny a bit of counter arguement esepcially when you didn't even back it up adequetly, the bugs in the upload were patched several versions ago. There was someone talking in an active thread about powersharing not working for him, but it seems to be something in his settings and him not installing it properally (ironically, i think karst is the only one that's bothered to do that ). There have been critical bugs in the version 6 revision and they were promptly patched, everything else however normally revolves round a simple non-critical display bugs. I'll think you'll find the userbase is there to prove the contrary about 6.1 et al. And you can say whatever you want about the way i present this information, but why dish out an insult as a retort instead of justifying your statement adequetly or criticising the logic of mine?

Moving on, oh please, high horse? talk about high horse and having to be right all you want, but who had the knee jerk reaction to having his opinion challenged? I added a bit of context to two people saying the program is buggy, and got this for my trouble:

Act like that without defending the actual statement you make with it, and your bound to get a reply to it saying something about the statements weak case :?

Its not the fact that 'i have to be right' at all, just to say whats on my mind, whats wrong or what i don't agree with, normally with a reason to back it up ;) A forums a place for opinions, especially one of statements and people can't read your mind unless you speak your mind.

Deal with it how you want, I've said my piece.

Anyone having problems with Morph7.3 powershare?

It doesn't seem to focus on my powershared files & the people I've given friend slots to.

Image

2 of the files there are on Powershare release, Cannibal Girl & the Making of schramm and both people downloading them are given friendslots. Yet the guy at the bottom is downloading the fastest on a file set of very low priority. Sometimes I get up to 6 upload slots and the most bandwidth goes to someone on standby, I also have a file set on Powershare normal which surely should get priority over the 2 other uploads.

Any suggestions

thats odd, have you turned the required features on in options? The thing is with morph is it offers several different upload shaping methods.

For powershare, i presume you want to be using ZZUL. For that you need to, iirc, turn off powersharing in options, set the upload management to ZZUL. Go through all your shared files and put everything to very low and make sure powershare -> disabled on each one (highlight them all and change the setting).

Then manually set your powershare file to powershare -> on and "release".

It won't boot people out of the queue until they get most of a chunk, so at startup, people may crap unpowered shared files for a little while. You cans see if its working by clicking to view queued clients and tehn sorting by score.

I suspect you've got the wrong upload system enabled, or your ini file has some junk from an old verison in it (if that's the case, delete it, you need a fresh lot of settings)

Let us know if that works, that's how i got powershare working correctly in 6.1, I had the wrong upload management system.

oh and then there's the usual none-morph specific stuff like, you need people to find you as a source so it needs to warm up once you first connect, and powershare does not apply to shareaza or overnet/edonkey clients.

Morphs been running for nearly 2 hours now so my queue should be OK now, and not uploading to un-powershared files.

Powershare is set to disabled and is only enabled on the files I have set to Powershare Release.

Image

Thats the screen from the upload management options screen, anything I got setup there wrong.

I also did a completely fresh install this time, all preference files where deleted so they should have been all at default.

If you need any other info Spud just say. And also I've checked the official forum and some people have the same problem, although one guy fixed it with a fresh install.
