problem I got yesterday was after I FTP the softmod and then Backup C and Backup E . then I can't boot into any dash at all, so cannot FTP

thx for all your input, I will try again. I hv unplug the power for 24 hours now, may be I can reboot to one of the MXM or Unleash X dash.

just to verify the folders in my Backup drives:

C : Folders: Audio
F0nts
fonts.du
xboxdashdat.du
xboxdashdata.17F14D00
xodash
Files: bert.xtf
dualboot.xbe
ernie.xtf
msdash.xbe
Xbox book.bak
xbox.bak
xboxdash.bak
xboxdash.xbe

E : Folders: BiosLD
CACHE
Dashboard
ltools
TDATA
UDATA

@D.

It's seem to me I hv 2 folders :TDATA & UDATA more than you
my Xbox version 1.6B

@PCA: (quote)nanjo, re load MA and use the load linux to get ftrp access then use th clean restore of the C: partition (someone else will have to help with this), then re-softmod (quote)

I can't load any game at all, it's only can boot to m$ XBOX logo and then hang for a while then displayed : service required contact support

@spud : I think I might take your way if i fail again, where can I d/l XboxHD?

u might have figured i'm not big on tutorials hence why i needed to format anyway.

I downloaded the xboxhd from xbox-scene.com

There's a readme file that tells you where to put your files (the hdd password file has to go in one directory and your backups in another_. You then run the bat file which creates an iso.

Then from booting i think i chose either option 1 or 3, i think it was 3, and unlocked. I thought i could mess about with the partition in windows using a reader, but the program crashed all the time. So I booted into the disc again, chose 3 I think, then I chose 2.

That restored my c drive back to how it was when i took the backup, and i could re-softmod.

Sorry i can't be more specific.

There a thread here on it:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=244043
but stuff like keeping the drive still plugged into the xbox... i didn't have to do that.

As long as you got your eeprom.bin backed up.

hi all, I managed to FTP again, it bootup Unleash dash, I hv FTP all original backup mentioned above and delete all softmod pack. I make them both the same on xbox C & E= backup C & E and delete all unnecessary files and folder.
Reboot with tray-in : strangely I still see unleashX boot up, I though I hv deleted all 'APP' and 'tHC ' folder. try to load MA, not loading.

I am rebooting tray-out now, hv been 5 minutes, MXM still displaying final inintialisation

what now? gents? :?

I remember now, when I couldn't get MXM to do the FTP , PCA told me to extract the unleashX.rar and put the default.xbe and config.xml burned it with Nero as a boot disc, rereplace the MXM's default.xbe and config.xml, probably that's why I cant boot to MXM,

I can boot to UnleashX every time now(slowly), so FTP is not a problem, loading a game still out of the question.

may be delete few more files will bring back to 'virgin' state, but which one?
any suggestion??

RESTORE A CLEAN C BACKUP. before you put your xbox in a state you can't o anything!

THEN you can re-softmod using the save on the HD. I'm confused as to why a retail game wont load though, that's weird
