I've still got the first Metal for Muthas album on Vinyl. Some good tracks on that one:

IRON MAIDEN, PRAYING MANTIS, TOAD THE WET SPROCKET, ETHEL THE FROG, SAMSON, SLEDGEHAMMER, E.F.BAND, ANGELWITCH, NUTZ

Samson's lead singer was Bruce Dickinson back then and Maiden's was still Paul Di'Anno. I saw Samson live at the Wigan Pier. The Samson track 'Yesterday or Tomorrow' on Metal for Muthas is still one of my favourite songs of all time.

You got the metal for muthas SWEET !!,

Samson is great, ive got their head-on album on vinyl it's with Bruce on vocals i really like it. It's got a somewhat bluessy feel weaved in the music which is nice imho. When did you see Samson must be back in the early 80's ??

It's a pitty but im too young to remember most of these NWOBHM bands. Nevertheless im collecting mostly everything i can find.

The most hard to find item must be the VIRTUE - We stand to fight 7"
that one truly is amazing 'I've only got it on mp3 but it's sweet kinda like old Maiden meets - Angelwitch it rocks. If you ahve an copy sell it to me hehehehhehe

I think Angelwitch, early Maiden, Blitzkrieg, Satan, Grim reaper, are my fav bands. I've got meself a NWOBHM bible which contains nearly all the bands from that era stuffed with BIOs, DISCOs and the like. A must for any collector

Demon's first LP Night of the Demon is great, although side 1 (heavier and horror-themed) is better than 2 (melodic hard rock).

AMG

Great cover art too, I have it on vinyl. :D

LOL, It was that long ago it's hard to work out. It must have been 79, 80 or 81. I do remember the drummer chucking his sticks out to the audience, and me missing them. There weer a lot of bands played Wigan Pier back then. Trying to stretch my mind back I can only recall Angelwitch, Venom and Maiden. I went to a few gigs there, but there were so many bands around at the time I can't think of them all.

I've still got all my old vinyl, which I'm going to dig out someday and see what I've got there - tons of old metal and punk from the eighties. But even lots of strange hippy stuff like Hawkwind and Tangerine Dream. Ah the good old days

Never ever !! throw out you're old vinyls, that would be an insane thing to do. Think you will regret that for sure. You've got a lot. vinyls ??

Got meself like 300 vinyls with all sorts of metal NWOBHM, TRASH, BLACK, DEATH. that Nwobhm period was kinda hectic i think it's like you said; there were SO many bands that played a sort of nwobhm style that it must have been hard to keep track with everything hehehheh. OVERKILLL hehehhe

There are tons of bands that eventually surfaced when the nwobhm period was allready over it's peak. Somewhat insane what people somtimes pay for an 7 incher of a not really known nwobhm name :)

But definately a real cool genre :beerchug:
