I must be one of few people on this planet who hasn't seen Titanic

Agreed though, there is watchable bad (but can be OK for other reasons), then there is just bad bad, like wtf was that shit about!!!

I hear what you're saying, spudthedestroyer, but i have a streak of masochism that sometimes forces me to watch unwatchable movies. It's not every day i can watch one of these (although I think I could watch one "crap" movie every day)--i don't know it depends on my mood. i guess i've been in the right mood when i've found myself watching Uwe Boll movies. but i just put on Cellular last night (which some people seem to like) and I couldn't stand it. had to turn it off. on another night, maybe i would've loved it.

As for Bollocks' movies being bad, it's basically like this: there are movies that are "Monsturd bad" and then there are movies that are "Boll(ocks) bad", with those two being almost polar opposites. And believe me, compared to Bollocks' cinematographic monstrosities, even Anderson's AvP could be considered "not that bad" (emphasis on "could be" of course).

btw who voted for "let him live"??

I would like the movie companies to give some Independent directors a 10th of Boll's budget, and see what they could come up with on that.

I'd bet Brian Clement (Meat Market 1&2, Exhumed), Brian Paulin (Bone Sickness) to name a few could make a much more watchable movie than Boll could ever make. Although on their micro budgets all the mentioned films are 10 times better than Alone In The Dark.

How about the opposite too? Give Boll a micro budget and see what happens...

I know the amount of money doesn't have an effect on how good a movie is, but if Boll can't make anything remotely watchable with $80 million I doubt he can make anything watchable on $80k. Maybe he would surprise us with a nice little film, but I doubt it.

That's exactly hollywood to a tee, they complain about a shortage of horror, yet the spend millions on these cheap shit knock offs/sequels and remakes... of course all the horror movies they make are going to suck if they don't take even the basic requirement of a small risk to get new films made.

The reason uwe boll can get his shit factory working, is the same reason ten years down the line hollywood is going to be in serious trouble when no1 buys the last decade of movies on STWZXPOSUJ-DVD

Actually there is this term "stupid (german) money"...... :wacky:

A lot of funding these days comes from germany....
something to do with a tax cuts-for-investment-construction.....

I dunno all of it....think it's gonna be axed soon too with their new economic reforms.....
so maybe .....just maybe (No don't jump in hte air just yet  ) ..... no more uwe boll productions ! :D

I just read something about the funding of movies. It's about our beloved friend Uwe Boll.

Quote:
...tax laws in Germany mean that any wealthy Germans who invest in a movie can write-off the production cost, delay paying their taxes and generally reduce their tax burden...the German investors in a movie only pay tax on any RETURNS the movie makes, their investment is 100% deductible...the investors can actually borrow money to put towards investment and write that off too.

Quote:
Why movie game licences? Simple, a hell of a lot of them are cheap and with most of them, the game publishers don't care what happens.

QUESTION: Why do you use choose to shoot many films in Vancouver? UWE: Good locations and crew. Labour tax rebates.

So for all the aspiring directors..

yeah, read all that ages ago.

German laws have/are changing so that's no longer the case, and i think publishers are wising up to how damaging crap movies are. In an ideal world all publishers would be lined up and shot, they are like record companies, dispicable and two faced marketing forces with money and nothing more. Its developers that should have final say but they don't.

11 people want him alive. Sad. 12 want him dead though, HHAH's cred still holds firm!

Uwe just needs some tragedy to spark the creative juices. Hopefully those juices are bright red and spilling from his head.

Not like his death would bring about any change (we accept visa/mastercard), crap films would still be made. I blame commercial art schools.

Well that's what you get being a newb and all
Been diggin' up on some Uwe Boll reports and saw this..ah well.
Didn't knew either that those laws changed.

Have to go allong with the developers who must have the last word and all.
In some cases the developers have more and more to say about the product.
A case for Novib on which i worked is a good example.

I'll vote for DEATH on Uwe Boll! Especially for GrindCallus :D

:matrix: the damn tosser

Cheers

well, as much as he may suck the big one.....how does Mr. Boll compare to ulli "zodiac killer" lommel? Want to see endless piles of shit, look no farther than this idiot, who had one early 80's film, The Boogeyman, do a pretty good job. Then he just keeps on raping that film. My 2 cents, Bip. :eatthis:

I think his commentary on "alone in the dark" was totally funny. I mean Boll saying the ending is poetic was astounding. Thus live on and make another commentary. Can't wait to hear it.

P.S. he complained for Tara Reid not getting her bra off...
